Lance makes the portal to open directly in front of his house, he has no desire to walk any distance at this point. Leann needs to get inside as soon as possible. The desert air is chill as the heat of the sun had long since dissipated from the heated stones.
"What happened?" The King demands as he sees Lance carrying Leann.
"You won't want to go to the lowest level for awhile King. Leann literally set the air on fire after getting tired of playing with them. We took out about a hundred before she got bored. I think it was more that she was needing sleep than boredom that caused her to stop though. You do NOT want to get on her bad side. I'd remember that once she takes her place amongst the witches." Lance doesn't stop walking as he talks to the King.
The King opens the door to the house and Lance carries Leann in and takes her back to his room rather than going up to hers.
"How is Verruca?" Lance asks coming out after settling Leann.
"Lance?" Jim asks in tones of disbelief as he comes down the stairs.
"Yes, you don't need to sound so disbelieving that I still remain alive. It was fun for awhile before Leann took away the fun." Lance is actually pouting and the other two demons look at him in consternation.
"You wanted to keep fighting them?" The King asks dumbfounded.
"For the first time in a long time I was able to let loose some of the anger inside of me. But I still have a great deal left. You shouldn't have trouble for awhile. This little show of strength should give any of them second thoughts."
"Just what happened?" Jim demands.
"Leann set the very air of the lowest hell on fire and it's going to seek out and burn any and all demons there. You really won't want to go there for some time. I don't know how long that spell will last." Lance smiles at the sight of the burning bodies of the demons.
"You seem cheerful Lance," Jim says carefully. Lance still has a dangerous look in his eyes.
"Darvol came to welcome me personally," Lance smiles a very predatory smile.
"You killed him yourself I take it?" The King sighs at the further proof of Lance's strength.
"Me?" Lance asks in a surprised voice and smiles a much brighter smile as he remembers Leann taking down his biggest enemy.
"No, he did something stupid. He called Leann my pet then ignored my warnings to stay away from her. She took exception to him touching her hair without permission. She threw him against the ice and rock wall then sent a javelin of fire to pin him to it. He screamed in agonizing pain as the fire covered his body. It took sometime for him to finally die and his screams to finally end."
The King and Jim both react to his words. Death and torture are something all demons are drawn to, even sex demons. They are all smiling at his description.
"Enough, just know that they all died painful and agonizing deaths by fire. Now will someone please tell me how Verruca is?"
Jim presses down on his lips in anger. "She's hurt pretty bad, she still hasn't awakened from being knocked out."
Lance closes his eyes. He needs to know what she was saying when they came under attack. If the child needs to die now would be the time for it to die while it is still early stages. Killing it won't be hard. The soul of a child you would think would be less satisfying but in truth their purity makes them the most satisfying of all. He'd gladly end the child by taking it's soul. The demon part can't wait.
But first he needs to know about whether or not the child should live. He heads to Verruca's room totally ignoring the King and Jim as he does so.
He finds himself still full of energy. If he has to heal Verruca he'll need it. He stops outside of her door. He centers himself before opening the door and going in. He turns on his aura seeing ability. He doesn't like the look of her aura, instead of the normal healthy blue and green of Verruca's aura it is now muddy and brown tinged with black. He hasn't had a lot of practice healing but if his reading is correct she needs healing far more than they had suspected.
