Jin's POV
We found her on the hill we climbed that day. She was taken to the emergency room and we haven't heard anything yet. The siblings confessed about her sickness and how long she suffered. If we only knew, how things would be different.
Kyungjoo's eyes were bloodshot red, "That's why she came to Korea. Our mother recommended that she'd come here to have surgery."
Suga quietly asked, "What exactly does she have?"
A soothing voice spoke, "She has a tumor that's located between two lobes in her brain."
The siblings, as well as the rest of us, turned to a woman in a long white coat. "Mom, what are you doing here?" She joined us, "The director called me. Who are these young men?"
Kyungjoo answered, "They're some friends of ours."
She examined each of us with a stiff face, "Why is she getting sicker? I thought the last report said that the chemotherapy worked." Kyungjae asked.
Chemotherapy? None of us knew what she was going through. Why didn't she tell us?
She bowed her head down, "She was getting better. But after talking to the staff I learned that she suffered from a head injury not too long ago."
We all looked at each other in shock. That's how she met Taehyung.
"Her immune system weakened due to therapy. It seems that this incident has aggravated the last bit of it. To the point where-" She stopped.
Her composure had shattered, expressing great sorrow. "She might not make it."
Those words echoed in my mind. The others either excused themselves or hung their heads low.
Taehyung hasn't said a single word since that fight. He refuses to eat, drink, or sleep. I know he's doing this out of guilt, but Rose wouldn't want that.
Rose's POV
Where am I? Standing up I looked around, I was surrounded by complete darkness. A light peered through a door-shaped frame.
I was a bit skeptical, but it was better than being in this black abyss. When I passed through the smell of fresh air filled my body with life. Little kids were all over the place, laughing as they were chasing each other.
From the corner of my eye, I saw a white figure on a bench. She was absolutely stunning. Her entire body gleamed of white.
I sat on the bench, but dared not to face her. The figure situated herself, "Do you recognize this park, Rose?"
I was startled, "How do you know-?"
She started to laugh, "I remember you and Kyungjae used to come here all the time."
Who is she?!
She pointed to the other side of the playground, "Look over there!"
There was a little boy happily running towards two women.
He was holding a little flower as if he had achieved the greatest accomplishment. "Look, mommy! I got this flower for her!"
The woman was carrying a baby. "How sweet of you! I'll put it right here."
Gently placing it down, the baby started to squirm. The little boy tiptoed and softly kissed its head, instantly preventing her from crying.
Holding its tiny hand he looked at her with great care, "It's okay Rose, I'll take care of you."
The woman stood up and offered a hand, "Come on! We have many more things to do."
I was a bit uncertain, but she seemed trustworthy. Taking her hand we walked into a light.
Namjoon's POV
Rose had to be taken into surgery. Her health was diminishing.
We need to perform this surgery or the tumor will cause more damage. Potentially risking her senses or even her memories. It isn't guaranteed, but we'll do our best.
This explanation that was given to us was heartbreaking. Everyone was mourning in despair. Not one of us has left the facility.
How is it that the people who smile the most are the ones who suffer?
Jungkook's POV
How could I have not known she was sick?! Thinking of different explanations something occurred to me. Suga and Jimin were too calm about this. Did they already know?
I went to confront them, "Did you know that Rose was sick?"
"We recently found out," Suga said.
"Why didn't you say anything?!" tears fell from my face.
He sat up, "She didn't want anyone to know. She begged us not to say a word."
Jimin's lips quivered, "Do you wanna know something? She was going to tell me what was wrong with her when we got back."
He wiped his eyes but tears continued falling.
Rose's POV
Boy band posters were hanging on every wall with pink in the background. My old room.
A girl was sitting on the bed listening to music when Kyungjoo came in.
"Hi Unnie! Are you ready?" She smiled at her and jumped off the bed, interlocking their arms.
The figure and I followed them, "I hope the doctor knows why I'm getting headaches all the time. I'm sick of them!"
We suddenly were in the doctor's office. He was rubbing his temples and sighed, "I'm sorry to inform you with bad news, but your daughter appears to have developed a brain tumor."
They all looked at each other in disbelief, "This can't be right, the tests are probably false."
My mother was squeezing her hand.
The woman turned to me with glistening eyes, "It's sad isn't it? To be told that you're sick with something like that."
We both turned to see my younger self, stiff and unresponsive. It was just as frightening to hear a second time.
Holding my hand she whispered, "Let's get out of here."
J-Hope's POV
The life of an artist is demanding. We had to leave the hospital due to our new album. Even though we weren't there, that was the only thing that was on our minds.
The director of the music video was not pleased. "Cut! What's wrong with you guys?! This is the third time we've taken this shot!"
Our manager timidly tried to calm him down. He took me offset, "Let me ask you one thing and be honest. Is it because of that girl?"
I gritted my teeth, nodding my head in the process. He whispered, "I know she's going through a hard time, but whatever is going on has to be put aside."
If only he knew.
