Kali's POV

It was a cloudy Monday morning in Westland, Michigan. I decided to go for a little walk in the small forest that sits behind my house. The neighborhood was very small, it only had 4 houses in the area. I hopped over the the small gate I had put up to keep the small animals out and began walking. Soon I was 4 miles in. The day was starting to get dark due to the weather so I decided to head back home before I become dinner for the wolves and other large animals. As I began to walk back, I felt myself being watched. I picked up my pace wanting to get the heck out of there as fast as possible. I start hearing footsteps coming from behind me and so I ran. As I ran I tripped over a branch hiding in all the leaves. I turned onto my back using my hands for support. I looked around for any animal or human. The footsteps seemed to be getting louder, as well as my heart beat. Slowly I could see what looks like a man reveal himself from the fog and the trees. As the young man began to approach me I started to crawl backwards until my back met up with a tree. I pulled my knees into my chest and pulled my hoody over my head trying the best I could to hide even though I knew it was useless. The man stopped inches away from me and bend down to meet my face. He had a gorgeous face. His jaw line was so perfect, His dark brown eyes met with mine, His hair was black and spiked up into a fohawk kind of style, and those lips. Such kissable lips. He smiled revealing his two canines. They were so sharp I imagine just a poke on the lips he'll puncture them. I looked down at the ground, then I felt his freezing palm touch my chin. He raised it up so that our eyes met once again.

"Don't be afraid, I'm harmless...sometimes." He says whispering the last part.

"Who are you?" I asked instantly. He removed his hand from my face and stuffed them in his pocket.

"Who are you?" He repeated.

"I asked first!" I say.

"Your the one trespassing!" He smiles.

"What? No this forest belongs to know one! My home is a few miles back." I say a little confused.

"This forest is a home to many creatures like myself!" He says waving his arm around the trees. I look deeper into his eyes as they made eye contact back with mine. His eyes held a secret like no other.

"What are you?" I asked moving closer to his face.

"What? Don't you mean who?" He ask.

"No, I mean what! I know your not a person, so what are you?" I knew exactly what he was, I just had to hear it from his mouth in order for me to believe it. He went quiet for a second, then spoke.

"I am a vampire!" He says smiling. His smile faded as he realized I had no expression on my face whatsoever. "Your not afraid?" He asked confused. I shook my head no. "Why?" He asked tilting his head just a bit.

"I've heard legends of you before, never really quite believed them until now." I reached my hand out to touch his face and he pulled back a little bit in shock. Slowly my hand made contact with his cheek. "You have such a warm smile, yet your so cold. You have so much color in you, yet your so pale." I say focusing on his features. He placed his hand on mine and removed them from his cheek. He smiled one last time then sped off as fast as light.  I stood up and looked around for him. I finally give up and began to walk home until I saw him hanging from the tree in front of me upside down with his feet wrapped around the branch. He hung in front of me stopping me from walking past. He used his hand to bring me closer to him. Our faces inches away.

"Your not like the others! What is your name?" He asked never looking away from my eyes.

"Kali!" I say softly.

"Kali? Such a beautiful name for such a beautiful creature!" He whispers and ending with a smile. He slowly brought our faces closer and closer until our lips touched. It was the most wonderful feeling in the world. He pulled away gently then pulled himself up in the tree and looked down at me.

"What is your name?" I asked.

"Zak." Respond with a small smile. "You should go before the wolves come out!" He suggest still standing in the tree.

"Not if I stay with You! If I'm with you they can't hurt me!" I say

"No, these woods are filled with more than just vampires Kali. These particular wolves aren't like any other wolves you read about in stories and hear of on the news. These wolves don't like me very well, and neither will you if you become one." He answers. As confusing he was, I understood every word he said. I nod my head and began walking home. Before I did I looked back at him once again.

"Will I see you again, Zak?" I asked.

"Of course! until next time Kali!" He smiled and left. I watched him leave, then I made my home. "I hope he's right about seeing me again!"
