Shelby's POV

It was a hot day in Los Angeles, as always, I was walking my dog. A little something about me. I'm a nerd. Like the nerdiness you could get. Especially for the paranormal. That's how I spend most of my time. Hunting ghosts! A few girls I went to collage with stopped in front of me with their hands on their hips and with the ugliest attitudes I've ever seen written on their faces.

"Uhh, Hi guys!" I say waving a little bit. They don't say anything they just snarl at me. I began to walk past them when one girl with shoulder cut blonde hair stopped me with her hand.

"Where do you think your going?" She spat at me while chewing her gum.

"Well, since you obviously can't spot the obvious..." I say giving them a little bit their own attitude. "I'm walking Colby!" I say tugging on his leash a little bit.

"No one cares about your stupid dog!" The middle girl with Brown hair and blonde hightlights said. Great! Even as an adult I get picked on!

"Well girls, I wish I could stay, really! But uhh, I've got Aaron's to run. See ya!" I saluted them off. They step in front of me once again stopping me from leaving.

"Woah! Your not going anywhere! Until we say you can!" The middle girl said.

"Says who?" I say placing my hands on hip.

"Uhh duh, her!" The blonde girl said. She was clearly the dumb one in the group. I roll my eyes pulling Colby closer to me.

"What do you want?" I ask. At this point, I was willing to do anything just so I can continue my walk. The girls looked at each other and whispered something into each others ear, then looked back at me. The middle girl had a smirk on her face.

"We want your dog!" She spoke.

"What! No way! That's dognap! I can report you for theft!" I  pointed a finger at each of them.

"Do that and we'll just tell them you gave it to us and that your just making a false report, which you can get fined for!" She said crossing her arms. I step back a step not so sure what to do at this point. I look down at the ground thinking of what to do. Until I heard a male voice.

"It?" The stranger said. I look up and see a mid-short guy with black kind of spiked hair standing behind the girls. He was wearing all black. The girls turned around in a dramatically dumb way.

"I'm pretty sure that dog is a he, not an 'it'?" He said. His voice was deep, yet stern. "Ma'am are these girls bothering you?"

"Uhh...ye-yeah, a little." I kind of didn't want to snitch because in this town snitching is a very rare thing to do, unless your asking for a beating. He walked up to the girls with a serious face that even scared me.

"Why do you girls choose to bully her? You all seem like sweet girls!" He says. Surprisingly the girls seemed too scared to say anything and just walked off not saying a word. The man laughed and looked at me. He walked closer to me giving me a friendly smile.

"Hey, sorry about those girls. They shouldn't be bullying you like that!" He says

"You saw everything?" I ask trying to control Colby.

"More like heard. I'm just around the corner, so I kind of heard everything." He looks down at Colby and smiles. He bends over and scratched the top of his head making Colbys tail go wild.

"And who's this cutie!?" He ask in a baby voice.

"His name is Colby!" I say smiling. I kind of like it when people play with Colby. It makes me feel good.

"You are a handsome guy you know! Your so big! Oh Zak would love you!" I look at him confused.

"Who's Zak?" I ask out of curiosity. He stands up straight and looks back at me.

"He's my friend. Also my Co-Worker. I'm Billy by the way!" He says holding out a hand.

"Shelby!" I shake his hand and smile.

"So you said Co-worker, what do you do?" I ask, also out of curiosity.

"Oh well, I'm a ghost investigator for a T.v. show called ghost adventures. We are actually filming an episode over there at the old hospital." My eyes went wide when he said ghost investigator.

"Really! That's awesome! I'm actually a ghost hunter, well kind of. I'm still working on it." I said too excitedly. He laughs.

"That's great! Hey how do you feel about investigating with us. You know just to give you a taste of what to expect when you do become a ghost hunter?" He ask.

"Really! I'd love to!" He walks me over to the others to meet them. One guy with jet black hair immediately runs over and falls in love with Colby.

"Oh my God! Look at You! Your so cute!" He said. I automatically assumed that was Zak. Billy introduces me to everyone else. He drives me home so I could take Colby home and get prepared for the lockdown tonight.
