"No readings from any of these!" By now, the Doctor had gone through almost the entire graveyard hoping for a result of any kind. None came. Continuing on for about another twenty minutes, he finally came to the last one.
"Blooming Asphodel, if this isn't the right one..." The Doctor scanned over the last gravestone with clear irritation. "Gotcha!"
Just as he spoke a pair of arms latched around his torso. "Hi." Kat squeaked.
The Doctor stood there, stunned and completely baffled.
"You found me," she noted, smiling up at him and shaking slightly.
"Five seconds are up, get off me."
Kat scrambled backward, falling. She sighed in relief. "Can we go back now?"
"I'm afraid not, there seems to be a small issue."
Her expression fell. "What kind of small issue?"
"Just wibbly wobbly, timey wimey... stuff."
"Very good explanation, now let's goooooo." She jumped to her feet, grabbing his wrist, attempting to pull him away.
"Not just yet, I need to speak to someone."
"If you plan on speaking with the leader, you can forget about that. The government is corrupted and she's a brat."
"Not her, the owl. Also, I wouldn't insult her if I were you."
"And why's that? I'm my own person!" Kat crossed her arms over her chest. "She deserves it, anyway." She added under her breath.
"We have... relations."
"Relations! What's that supposed to mean? We have relations and you insult me all the time!" She furrowed her brows. More questions came to mind. "Why didn't the angel send me back in time?"
"One question at a time. Technically, she did."
"What about my first question."
"Not important at the moment."
"Fine. Hurry up with the owl, I'm hungry." Kat huffed.
"Well, I'm afraid it'll have to wait. We aren't near the cafe, maybe a few millenias."
"Yes, yes. Spacey Timey Travely. Let's go."
"After you."
Kat grinned. She dashed off in the other direction toward the park. The Doctor began trailing behind, slipping a flashing object into the grave of the unnamed. A white point diamond.
"Doctor, hurry up!" Kat called back, now swaying on the swing beside the owl from earlier.
"Hush! I'll be there in a minute!" The Doctor sprinted up to the T.A.R.D.I.S. and ran in. He began to play with the switches, turning them in some sort of code.
"Hey!" Kat stood in the doorway, utterly confused.
"Yes?"
"What're you doing?"
"What are you doing?"
"Waiting for an answer."
"Great, now if you'd like to receive one I highly recommend taking the road to Akhaten."
"Pardon?"
The Doctor rolled his eyes. "Just get in the T.A.R.D.I.S."
Kat dashed to the staircase, sitting down and staring at him.
"I'd also recommend holding on."
She grabbed the railing and waited. "Doing so."
He flipped a switch and the entire T.A.R.D.I.S. began to shake. You could feel the movement through the air, and then they crashed. There was nothing left, and it caused almost a bounce-back effect.
"Was that supposed to happen?"
"No, but I expected as much."
"Expected what? What happened?"
"We're returning to New York, 1938. I may as well be ripping the universe apart by trying to come here. Actually, I may rip New York off the map entirely."
"TO GERMANY!" Kat yelled, fist pumping the air.
"No, we're going to New York. You see, I need to meet up with an old friend. He lived strictly through the year 1938."
Kat nodded. "Proceed to 1938."
The Doctor nodded and there was a crash of light. Soon after, they were falling through the New York skyline with T.A.R.D.I.S. boards ripped apart around them. The Doctor was far to calm to say the least.
At some point Kat had curled into a ball. "Does this happen often?" She asked through her arms.
"No, I may have just demolished our ride back home. While we're stuck here, I would have a visit to Winter Quay. A nice place."
"Why are you s-so calm?!"
"Why should I not be? After all, what else would we have come here for but to trap you here?" He smiled and continued looking over the water.
"You scare me sometimes." She mentioned as she sat up from her position on the ground. "Do you hate me?"
"Oh, no dear. It's just business."
"Scary man..." Kat repeated, frowning deeply at him.
"I'd highly advise you to hold your tongue, Ms. d3Mx2 the second. We really don't have much courtesy for extras."
"You're not okay." Kat approached him, and poked his forehead. "What's up?"
"Sit down, Time Lord, or we may have no use for you."
