Kat stared down at her phone, then at the gun laying at her side. She was laying in the center of the room, waiting as patiently as possible.
Just to see what would happen, Kat screamed. A scream that sounded like pain. There was no response, only a shudder that seemed to pull destruction with it. You could feel everything coming to shambles with just an echo.
"Crap."
The walls echoed, "crap, crap, crap, crap, crap..."
"Hey, Doctor?"
"Hey, hey, hey"
"Um... Hello?"
"HEY, HEY, HEY"
"Um... Pardon? Who's there?" Kat sat up, reaching for the gun.
"THERE, THERE, THERE"
"Bloody tossers," She muttered, pulling the hammer spur, aiming toward the wall.
"Blood, blood, blood!"
'Doctor? I swear if you don't get here soon I'll pull the trigger.'
Here, here, here
"I HATE YOU SO MUCH."
'Not funny, Doctor.'
"Awesome, awesome, awesome, AWESOME!"
"I w-will shoot..." she turned to the opposite wall.
"Oh come on, we all know you won't." He laughed and stepped out of the shadows. "Hello, River."
"Pardon?" She moved the gun in the direction of the person. "W-what?"
"Sorry? I thought you'd be happier to see me!"
"Who exactly?"
"Umm... you? Who else is in the room but Kat?"
"I have a gun. And the Doctor is on his way."
The figure rolled his eyes and took out a phone.
Really, you have the T.A.R.D.I.S. and I'm the only other person other than Captain Jack and my wife that has a vortex manipulator. They only made three.
Kat lowered the gun slightly. "What's going on?"
"What do you think? I made it here without you noticing and I do love traumatizing you. You gave me the signal so all I needed was to travel with it."
Kat pointed the gun behind her, looked him straight in the eye and moved her finger slightly. "Shall I?"
Her hand trembled as she smiled at him. "I've had lifetimes worth of trauma, thank you very much." She sank to the ground and fully turned to the wall the gun was aimed for.
"Kat, put the gun down, now. I promise you, this won't help."
She threw the gun at him. The Doctor jumped towards the wall opposite to him in an attempt to dodge the gun. Little did he realize the gun was going to the left as well.
"Hahah-," the Doctor started, dread and defeat filling his eyes, "owwwwww! Kat, what is wrong with you! You don't just throw bloody metal guns at people! You know, I just feel like traumatizing someone with a pistol today! Sounds quite fun, you know?"
Kat could feel the sarcasm radiating through the air.
"Sorry," she mumbled, burying her head in her arms.
The Doctor was oblivious to the current situation. "Honestly, Kat, this is the best way I've ever heard of to greet someone who came to save you from this hellhole."
"Then just leave already!" she yelled half-heartedly.
"Well if that's how you want to be!" he yelled back, but didn't move from his stance.
"Give the gun back," Kat whispered.
"Sweetie, you know how I feel about guns. Do you really think I'd give out a gun at this point in time? Especially when someone just threw it at me?!"
Kat curled further into a ball. "Gun. Now."
"Don't you dare take that tone with me young lady. This is not how things will be run. Now, if you have any intention of ever leaving this room, go into the T.A.R.D.I.S. right this instant," the Doctor said in a deadly tone, his face becoming emotionless.
"I hate everything," she replied.
"And?" the Doctor inquired.
Tears. That was the response.
"Get into the T.A.R.D.I.S. now."
An unmoving Kat. A frustrated Doctor.
"Do I need to drag you there?" the Doctor said, his tone never once rising or falling.
"Probably," she said, looking up at him, tears still streaming down her face.
"Get up at once. Make no mistake, you will be left here if you don't move. I will not deal with this right now."
Kat strode over to the Doctor.
"Is there something you'd like to say?" He raised his eyebrows at her.
"See ya, Dad."
With that, she grabbed the pistol from the ground and held it to her head. As the Doctor is in shock, she smiled slightly, and pulled the trigger. The gunshot rang throughout the room, the bullet going through and then ricocheting off the walls, creating a sort of symphony. Her figure fell limp to the ground, the gun clattering to the floor at his feet.
The Doctor yelled, "Kat!" He entered a state of utter shock and despair as he stared at the lifeless body laying on the ground.
He turned away, starting towards the T.A.R.D.I.S. He closed his eyes for a few seconds, letting it all sink in. When he opened them, a golden light was illuminating the room. He slowly turned around. Golden dust was flowing out of the surface all over her body, her face glowing, almost as if it were a sun. She opened her mouth, emitting more golden dust.
The Doctor's eyes widened, "What in the name of sanity..."
Kat opened her eyes. "Hello, Dad." She smiled at him just as golden beams shot out of her arms, legs and head. She screamed, not in pain, but an exhilarating scream. Suddenly, it stopped. Everything was silent, Kat folded in exhaustion.
She beamed. "See, I told you I'd be fine!"
