"Why am I here, Mr. Gay?" I asked him, crossing my arms drowsily. I still wore Jaxon's pajamas, due to my lack of clothing in the sleeping variety, of course. Plus they fit pretty well.

"We're here to attempt at gaining your memories back." Mr. Gay explained, opening his suitcase and revealing a peculiar orange envelope. "I know things like this can't be forced, but if you have any sorts of recollection when seeing these photos, please tell me."

I sighed, going along with it. I sat down on the other side of his desk, waiting for him to get ready. "Hey, Mr. Gay.. I have a quick question.."

"Hm? Yes, what is it?"

"Why'd you have to break me out? It was a contract, right?"

"Yes, but contracts have time limits. I promised to have let them keep you for three years, you know, once I finished a certain mystery. You were only in there for two years, you see, my investigation lasted two years, and I didn't want to wait any longer. They wouldn't let me get you, you see.. even though I'm your legal guardian."

"Legal.. guardian?" I said, surprised.

"Right, I've.. never actually mentioned this, huh?" He stared at me with soft eyes. "I'm your uncle."

I sat there, shocked. "Then.. why are you taking care of me? Where are my parents?"

His eyes grew sad, as if something bad has happened to them. Assuming, my eyes grew wide. Did they..

"No, they.. they didn't die or anything.." He paused, but forced himself to continue. "Are you sure you want to hear it?"

"I want to know everything you know." I replied, determined.

He sighed sadly. "Your parents disowned you. They.. were dicks, in my opinion. So, I don't want you to feel bad or anything..-"

I didn't really know what to say. My feelings simply.. shut off for the time being. "Oh.. I see.." I said, quite vaguely. "Let's just continue with the memory thing or whatever." I looked away, not really wanting to make eye contact.

"..I understand." He took out his notepad and pen along with a few pictures within the orange envelope. "I just need you to tell me if any of these photos mean anything to you, is all."

Mr. Gay pulls out the first photo. A picture of a woman. Her hair was a bright orange, a redhead, to be exact. She had blue eyes and was smiling brightly, something I haven't done in a while. Her sundress was yellow, bringing out her brilliant orange hair.

Mr. Gay waited for me to say anything, though I couldn't recall anything. I shook my head.

"Mr. Gay, I don't think this will work.." I said, losing bits of my hope.

"Even so, please just try."

He uncovers the next photo, and the next. Minutes later of silence and head shakes, we were finished. The photos weren't particularly interesting, they were just pictures of the same people in different areas with different expressions. They were either happy, sad, anxious, etc. None of these people appealed to me, and my memories refused to take down the wall that blocked my every thought from before.

I suddenly got a headache, after trying too hard. I kind of expected it, I've never thought much about trying to get my memories back until now anyways. I sighed, loosing all sorts of hope.

"I'm going back. Jax's home, right?"

"Actually, he's at a job interview. He wants to earn money and stuff, don't know why." Mr. Gay shrugged, putting all the stuff away. "You can leave, Jin. We'll try again another time."
