Chapter Six
"Something tells me that nobody can hear us", Loki muttered as calmly as he could, taking a step closer to the thick glass. As an image of a Chitauri appeared in his mind, his fists clenched; in an attempt to control his anger.
His whole body tensed dramatically with rage, his blood was boiling and his heart felt as though it had turned to stone in his chest. To be truthful, he was surprised that it already hadn't. Turning around abruptly, he walked over to the book Alice had left on the ground; trying, but failing to stop his negative thoughts - they would have no trouble killing her, she was nothing to them - was the only thing that was going around in his head.
"Oh, yes, we are quite alone, which gives us plenty of time to talk. Although, I'm surprised it has come to this, Loki." The Captain's voice deepened, echoing on the walls - sending a small shiver up Loki back.
The Captain walked around to the cell's control panel and deliberately ran his fingertips over some of the buttons. "Your progress with the Tesseract is lacking, to say the least and to top it off, you're choosing to stay here and play house with that girl. His patience is wearing thin and so is mine.
Loki spun around to glare at The Captain, but to no prevail, as he was giving no attention to Loki. Clenching his teeth tightly, he silently cursed himself; they had been watching. The Caption looked up, just in time to see the anger on Loki's face. This made him grin wickedly, showing all his teeth.
"Sir, she's on her way back. You have about thirty seconds until she reaches the room.", came the sharp voice in The Captain's ear.
" Looks like our time is up, for now." The Captain walked over to the door, stopping once, to regard Loki shrewdly, before he finally left. Or so Loki thought.
"Let me just give you a word of advice. This planet will be ours, these people will die. My advice to you, don't end up like them."
The captain activated the door, sending it flying open, just as Alice reached the room. She gave him a small smile and stepped casually into the room, narrowly avoiding The Captain's foot.
"Ah, Alice good to see you again. I hope everything went well with Fury?" The Captain's voice had now regained its normal tone - friendly and light.
"Yes, just fine - he was happy you got back to me so fast. I have to talk to Loki and then I'm going to go pack.",Alice said, distractedly looking down the hall to see a large group of guards coming towards them. With no other than Thor leading them, of course.
"Well then I'll be off, stay safe." And with that, he reached out both arms, pulling Alice into a long goodbye hug. He made a point of looking straight into Loki's eyes as he did so.
Alice gave a small hug back and took a step away as soon as The Captain ended the hug. Then he spun around and walk out of the room. Alice had been smiling at him, but it was wiped from her face, when she saw the look on Loki's.
His eyes were red and he was breathing heavily, but she could tell he was holding back the full range that his anger could reach by how his hands were shaking by his side. All of his knuckles were white, due to the strength that he was using to clench his fists.
"Loki, are you alright?", Alice enquired, reaching out for him from outside the cell. Even though she wanted to stay, she had to pack her things. They were going to be leaving soon and she had much to do.
"Loki, it has been decided that having you here is no longer safe for the others aboard the ship. Consequently, you and I are going to be transferred to the Northern Ice Base. In thirty minutes, we will be boarding the cargo ship, which will also be taking supplies directly to the Base." Hearing this made Loki calm down, at least Alice would be far away from all of this madness.
