Chapter 7

When the doors closed, darkness overtook them immediately. When Alice had met Fury in her room he had told her all about the ship. He'd told her that all the things that the ship lacked - lights, cameras, and radios were amongst them. He also recommended that she stay in one of her smoke forms during the flight. He was worried Loki would try something.

~ Are there cameras in here?~ Loki whispered deep in her mind. He doubted it though, it was so dark in here; no-one would be able to see anything anyway. He used the dark as a blanket to hide his rising emotions.

Thor, and that Chitauri, they've all touched her. Right in front of him, no less.

He had to stop thoughts like this overtaking his mind. He had to stay calm - if he broke anything (his frame of mind included), too many questions would be asked. Loki's whole body was shaking - even more so - as he forced himself not to move. All the restraints were making it hard for him to breathe. Which only made him angrier.

"No, this ship was never meant to hold people, so indoor cameras were never put in. But you keep that to yourself, I'm not suppose to tell you that." Alice said, as she pulled out a rather large flashlight from the bag Fury gave her. The small, cleared out area came into focus and once again they could see each other. Placing the light on top of one of the boxes next to her, she looked in the bag again to find the keys.

Alice glanced up from searching the bag, to find Loki staring at her. That sent her heart racing, she wondered if Loki could hear it? She dropped the bag and casually watched it hit the floor. When it did, a small object fell out. There as a note attached to it.

~Alice,

This key-ring will be worn around your wrist. Once it touches your skin, you will be the only one able to take it off, by saying: "Don't hand me things." Sorry, Stark picked it. You will see four different colored cubes, each one has a pattern on the bottom, which when matched to the right lock will open it. These keys are the only kind used where you are going, or so I'm told. You will be the only one there with keys to do with to Loki. Since whatever you are wearing changes with you, there's no danger of having a spare for someone else to find. I wish you the best of luck, I'm sorry we didn't get the chance to get to know each other better.

Best wishes, Banner~

Alice really had wanted to stay and get to know Banner better; he seemed like a nice guy. And on a more personal note, Alice wanted to see the Hulk - she'd always wondered if her powers would work on him like it did on others.

This cube thing was either one of the best ideas she'd had ever heard or the craziest. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see Loki still looking at her. She looked at the four small keys in awe for a moment before standing up.

There wasn't much room around the ship - to make room for them, two large crates had been removed. The chains around his legs had one lock on each ankle, and they matched the color of the purple cube she held in her hand. Sure enough, when she waved the key over the lock it opened with a click.

Meanwhile Loki was feeling something building up inside him, it was similar to how he felt just before their first kiss. This was stronger, though and more intense.

He had to stop her, himself, everything... she was mortal, if he lost control, he would hurt her.

He tried to tell her to stop, to tell her it wasn't safe for her. But he couldn't reach her, something inside him wasn't letting him.

~Stop,~ he pleaded in his mind.

She was now working on the first three locks on his right side, there were only a few, keeping him tied securely to the bench.
