I stared at Ronda. “All boys?” I somehow sputtered.

“Yes, and you would be living in the same dorm as them. And… there is a community shower and bathroom.” I gawked at Ronda. However, as bad as that sounded, I had nowhere else to go, so really I had no choice.

I sighed, “I’ll do it. There’s nothing else for me to do anyways.”

Ronda smiled; a smile that said ‘I am so sorry this is going to suck for you but good luck. She handed me a map and pointed to a building on it, “This is the dorm that you will be staying in. Your room number is 001. You should go there and get to know people.” I nodded, thanked her, and set off for the dorm.

It was an older building, the architecture outdated opposed to the newer buildings that made up the rest of town, but had a certain charm to it that I liked. Upon entering, a couple guys turned to look at me. After a few seconds one approached me.

“Hey lady, this is a guys’ dorm.” He said, looking at me with one eyebrow cocked up.

“Yes I know, I am the new dorm manager.” That seemed to surprise him slightly.

“Well uh, okay. Nice to meet you, I’m Kevin.” Kevin extended a hand for me. He was tall enough that I had to reach my hand at an awkward upward angle in order to reach his. I wasn’t short at 5’9”, but Kevin towered over me.

“How tall are you Kevin?” He laughed.

“I’m 6’7””

“Wow. Oh I’m Scarlette by the way.” I figured I should add. A couple other guys in the room chuckled. One got out of his chair and extended his hand as well.

“Nick’s the name, nice to meet you Scarlette.” I smiled at him, feeling better about my surroundings already after meeting the friendly boys.

“Alright, well I’m gonna go check out the digs, it was awesome meeting you guys. Do you know where room 1 is?” A couple of the guys pointed in a direction. I nodded my head at everyone and headed in the direction they pointed. The room was small, but considering that I got it to myself it wasn’t bad at all. A bed sat in one corner, and a small desk in the other. There was a fridge in the middle with a microwave on a stand above it. There was a large, rectangular window facing a small courtyard area in the middle of the square dorm on the wall over my bed. Overall, I was pleased with everything so far.

The only remaining problem was the bathroom situation. I decided to go check it out, and began wandering the halls in search of one of the three bathrooms. Upon finding one, without thinking I strode in. It took me a second to register the two guys at urinals before I gasped.

“Jesus Christ!” I slapped a hand over my eyes and spun around, “Sorry!” Then I promptly exited the bathroom. ‘Scarlette you’re an idiot,’ I told myself, of course you can’t just waltz into the boys’ bathroom. Good lord. I almost jogged back to my room, slightly flustered by the occurrence. I heard laughing behind me and looked over my shoulder. An extremely attractive guy was jogging towards me.

“If you need to use the bathroom it’s free now.” I smacked my forehead.

“No I’m totally fine, I just was wondering to see if I could do anything about the bathroom situation being the only girl here but I was a total dumbass and walked right in. Sorry about that.” He was still laughing and shook his head.

“Don’t even worry about it, it’s cool. I’m Zack.”

“Scarlette. I’m the new dorm manager.” He nodded his head in understanding.

“Well, Scarlette, I would love to stay and talk, but I have to get to class. It was nice meeting you.”

“Later, Zack.” Well that embarrassing situation didn’t turn out too badly. I looked at the clock. It was 5, so I should head to the dining hall sometime soon. So what should I do in the mean time? I frowned and looked around. There was a TV in the main room and a football game was on so I sat down there and made myself comfortable in the cushiony chair. I kicked my shoes off and stuck my feet underneath me, and watched the game with the guys.
