There was a big commotion from among the crowd as they realized what had happened.
"Dude Shawn!" Kevin grabbed Shawn's hand. It was obvious that Shawn wasn't trying to hurt me, just embarrass me. I stood there in my bra. It was just a simple black bra; nothing special. I was used to stunts like this, and didn't feel particularly upset about it.
"I liked that shirt." I looked at Shawn. "Why did you rip my shirt?"
He looked stunned for a second by the fact that instead of freaking out I was questioning him.
"You don't belong here." He snarled at me.
"Why not? If it has to do with the fact that this is a boy's dorm and I'm a girl that's silly."
"Just here in general. You are a little princess who just doesn't belong here." I looked at him, confused.
"I grew up in Chicago and my parents have absolutely no money. I am only the manager of this dorm because being manager is free and I don't have money to spend on staying in the dorm. I worked my ass off to pull a GPA high enough to get a full ride to this pile of shit college. I am not a princess. Back off."
I stepped forward, and pushed my finger into his chest, "You on the other hand, are probably a spoiled rotten rich kid who is being rebellious because he can get away with it. Everything you wear is brand name, and you don't get in trouble. Just how much money does your family have? But, probably to get attention from your hard-working parents, you screw around and get into trouble."
The room was quiet. My guess is that no one ever stands up to Shawn, except maybe the old dorm managers who, without realizing how troublesome he is, chastise him and pay for it.
"What do you want Shawn? Attention? Because you have plenty of it. Look around." Everyone gawked at us.
"You don't know me. You don't know my life. Butt out." He shoved me and stalked off, slamming the door behind him. I shivered, the air from outside making a shirtless me cold. My jacket was slung over a chair at the table that Nick and Jack had previously occupied. I made my way over to it, people parting to give me room. On my way to the table, somebody bumped into me and spilled beer down my front. They apologized profusely, and I told them it was not a big deal. I grabbed my jacket and headed to the bathroom. I didn't actually know where it was, so I just opened random doors and hoped for the best.
The second door I opened gave me somewhat of a surprise. A very drunk Jack was topping a totally sober Nick. That makes sense why Nick was trying to get Jack drunk I suppose. Nick got what he wanted, and Jack won't even remember. I was getting a gay vibe from Nick so that much didn't surprise me. It did surprise me that it was Jack, but oh well. I closed the door, the two behind completely oblivious to my presence. I flipped the sign on the door from 'unoccupied' to 'privacy please'. What happens in college is no secret.
My third try revealed a bathroom, and much to my pleasant surprise, no couples or anything. I rinsed the stinky beer off of my chest and slipped my jacket on. I was feeling pretty done with the party so far, but I knew that it was sort of in my honor and leaving would be rude. I never got to drink my lemonade, so I went for something a little stronger. I found Kevin, knowing he was in on almost everything.
"Hey where can I get some good booze?"
He smiled at me and produced a bottle from under the table, "I thought you'd never ask." Surprisingly, Kevin seemed to be totally sober. I didn't know why the heck that would be, but shrugged and held out a cup. He poured me a very generous glass and handed me some sprite.
I downed the booze and then the sprite.
"Ech, that was a really bad chaser. Coke would be better with that." I shook my head to clear it slightly. The alcohol was already starting to take effect, a warm, fuzzy feeling spreading from my gut. Unfortunately, I had quite a bit of experience with alcohol and it took a lot for me to feel anything, so I felt fine apart from a bubbly stomach.
