It was Saturday, so I didn't have to do anything. Then I remembered I had an awesome guy's number in my phone.
Hey it's Scarlette. Are you doing anything today/ tormorrow?
Matt texted back almost immediately. Tonight at 8??
Yep sounds good!
I'll pick you up then. See you at 8.
My stomach fluttered. It seems that Matt had that effect on me. Silly frivolous stomach. I flopped back on my bed. The rest of the day I spent reading and watching movies. I studied a little, but after only a week of school, I didn't really have any homework.
At 7, I heard a huge commotion in the lobby. I listened closer to see if I could gather any information. Alex and Kevin were currently talking. "Shawn's so fucked. Look what they did to Jack. Shawn told us to stay behind, but he might get killed." The sound was slightly muffled, but due to the practicallly nonexistent insulation and soundproofing, I could understand everything with ease.
Jax spoke, "Even if we went, I don't think it would do much."
I poked my head in to see what was up. Jack was severely beat up, his face cut and bleeding. He was developing a black eye and he was holding his arm like it was broken. He also was slightly hunched over, suggesting at least bruised or cracked ribs.
"Wow look what the cat dragged in." I walked in and scanned Jack.
The boys turned to me nervously, they were obviously trying to keep what was going on away from me.
"If you trying to keep this secret you shouldn't make such a commotion in the main lobby. Jack, you should wrap your arm, we need to check out your ribs, and we need to clean up your face. Come in to my room; I've got a really good first aid kit." I led Jack by his uninjured arm, "You three are coming too." The three reluctantly followed. I sat down on my bed and gestured for Jack to follow suit. He reluctantly plopped down on the comforter and sat there awkwardly. I turned to the other two, "Spill."
"Shawn apparently slept with the girlfriend of the biggest gang leader in town. His name's Geoff. Well, and... Geoff found out." I sighed. I took out my phone and texted Matt.
I'm so sorry. I can't make tonight. One of the guys got into some huge trouble that I need to take care of. I feel awful cancelling our first date. I promise to make it up to you.
Matt texted back quickly again, Don't sweat it. I hope it's okay with the problem.
I turned back to the boys, and began treating Jack. "Continue."
Jax spoke up. "So he had a couple of his goons go after Jack, I guess they thought he was important since he's his roommate. Shawn got fed up and went after them, but he told us to stay behind. The problem is, Geoff's gang has a couple hundred people in it. This isn't something he's going to take lightly."
"That idiot's gonna get served." I said. I finished with Jack, "You are not going anywhere like that. Alex, Kevin, Jax, we should go."
"We'?!" Kevin asked.
"Yeah, Scarlette, you're not going anywhere." Alex stepped in front of me.
"Move Alex." He crossed his arms, unmoving. I sighed, "We don't have time for this." I shoved Alex out of the way and opened my closet. I got out my roller suitcase. When you first open it, it has clothes, but under the secondary lining, there is a hidden compartment of sorts. It is here that I always stored my weapons. I began picking out what to bring. I changed into my fighting clothes, not caring that the guys were there. My fighting gear pretty much went over my normal clothing if I wanted it to. It's purpose was to hold and conceal weapons.
