I looked at the clock- it was 10 in the morning.Since I had decided to skip class, I had a ton of time on my hands and I didn't really know what to do with it. I get bored really easily and really quickly, so  doing absolutely nothing was not really an option. I pulled out my laptop for the first time and noticed I wasn't hooked up to the wifi.

"Kevin?" After a few seconds Kevin popped in. "What's the wifi password?"

"WhogivesaFuck," replied Kevin.

"Which wifi are we?"

"Fuck off." I should've known.

"Were you guys drunk when you decided on this?" I looked up after hooking up to the wifi.

"They made that years ago, we just don't change it because it suits us just fine."

"Indeed it does. How's Shawn?"

"He's sleeping. Oh funny joke about the boner by the way."

"Oh, yeah thanks. How did he take care of that anyways?"

"Don't know don't care." An understandable reply coming from another straight guy.

"Oh, by the way, what's the deal with him? Why is everyone so freaked out by him?" I asked. Kevin looked at me for a minute, obviously deciding whether or not he should answer. With a sigh he walked over and sat on my bed beside me.

"You know at that party when he cut your shirt and you blew up at him saying he's a spoiled rich kid?" I nodded. "Well, that was pretty close, but a little off. His parents were really rich but they died in a car accident and he is left with the inheritance money. I think he started a gang just because his life sucked so much, and then he started beating people up. But he gets really violent towards anyone who goes against him, I guess he thinks that he's gone through enough shit in his life and doesn't deserve any more. I knew him before his parents died and he was a really nice guy, and him and his parents were really close. I also think that's why he doesn't want to get in a relationship, because he's afraid of them getting hurt and him suffering from that."

Everything that Kevin sad made sense, and I could see how gong through a situation like that could drive someone to become what Shawn was today. "That's too bad. Has it gotten any better over time?"

"No, only worse, I think he honestly forgot his original reason for being like this and now just getting pulled down into this life style that he has chosen." We sat in silence for a second, I was personally just letting that information set in. Kevin spoke again after a second. "So Scar, what's your story, where did you learn to be so badass?"

"I was in a gang back in Chicago."

"Why did you join?"

"My brother died, and I guess I decided I needed to be strong, and in Chicago that's pretty much the only way."

"How did your brother die, if you don't mind me asking?" Kevin asked gently, as if testing the waters.

"We are not actually sure, the police told us that how and when he died was unsure, but it was known that it was a gang conflict. He was living apart from us at the time, the police just contacted us one day saying that they found his body."

"Sorry for your loss."

"Thanks, I'm pretty much over it at this point."

"When was it?"

"Three years ago."

"So that's about how long you've been in a gang?"

"Yep, and I caught on pretty quick, so I got pretty good." I smirked at him.
