"Today we're here to pay our respects to two very special agents who had contributed so much to our society. Lily and Oleander Thorn. We are eternally grateful to their contributions that built this entire organisation and we promise to take care of your family. Just like you have done with ours." The guy that picked me up spoke.
"Your daughter, Olivia Thorn, will be under our care, just as you have instructed. We will give her any she needs, but never to pamper her. We will take care of her, but never to make her fragile. We will train her, to become strong and brave just as you have been. Thank the Angels for your sacrifice and may we give back just as much as you gave us. In the Angel's name, we pray for you to rest in peace, forever." He continued. I clenched my fingers into a fist and controlled my anger.
"Olivia, do you want to come up and say anything?" He asked.
I trudged up the stairs slowly and when I stand on the stage. I see a sea of blue and black. Their stares were intimidating however, I held my ground with my chin up.
"My name is Olivia Thorn. My Father and Mother just passed away. They are brave, clever and strong. I may not know much about their past but I am willing to learn about them. I love them. If they trust you then so, do I." I raised my voice and they clapped. Even if I said I will trust them, that bridge had been broken. For my Father told me once to never trust anyone, not even himself.
"Rest in Peace, Mother and Father." I whispered.
"Rest in Peace, Lily and Oleander Thorn." The crowd echoed.
Tears welled up and I blinked them away. I am at the last stage, I am going to let go. I breathed in deeply and placed the white lily down on their casket.
"Farewell Father, Farewell Mother." I muttered and closed my eyes. Shut away the feelings and emotions; lock it faraway, deep inside me. I opened my eyes and turned around with my face blank.
"Miss Stone. Please pay attention in class and stop your doodling. Answer this question." The professor ordered.
"The answer is 0." I answered robotically. He was stunned and adjusted his glasses.
"Just because you are good at the subject never means you can doodle. If I catch you again, you'll be going to detention. Am I clear?" He raised his eyebrows.
"Crystal." I replied nonchalantly, refraining myself from rolling my eyes. He continued his teaching.
"Professor Garrett, I have to take Miss Olivia Stone to a meeting immediately." Will appeared in the doorway with a letter in hand.
"Well, you are free to go, Miss Stone." Professor Garrett waved his hand and I got up and left.
Once we were out of sight and out of hearing range, I crossed my arms and waited for him to speak.
"I spotted a guy in Literature. His name is Anthony Eaton. He apparently hates Edward. Check on him." Will whispered.
"You called me out of class just for this? We could've met up for lunch you know?" I scoffed and took out my tablet.
"Well, they are having a face-off, I have no idea what that is, at around five. So, check him now." He ran a hand through his hair.
"And it's only 11 in the morning." I replied as I typed away.
"5 hours are enough for anything to happened." He glared at me.
"Anthony Eaton, son of Bernard Winchester. Bernard is head general of Easton. Apparently, Eaton the young does not know anything about his biological father. He is brought up by his Mother and his step-father who is known to him as biological." I read aloud.
"Who is his step-father?" Will grabbed the tablet and inched it towards him.
"Westly Eaton." I answered.
"Ugh, more people to dig. Dig everything and inform Grace and I in short by 1." He ordered.
"By the way, I'm the leader. I don't follow your orders. Ask Grace to help you." I snarled.
"We have found a lead. What about you as a leader?" He raised an eyebrow at me.
"I have already had two of the minor guards working for the enemy questioned. They were very loyal but they spilled an initial, O.T. You have to remember, you worked for me for four years already." I faked a smiled.
His face paled, "I'm sorry for the accusation. I was just... Ugh, I apologise for my behaviour. You may keep me from pursuing this mission as punishment."
"No need, just continue to keep Edward distracted and his buddy Adrian too. Especially Adrian." I whispered and chucked the tablet back into my bag.
"Your wish is my command." He replied.
"I'll be there at 5." I called out.
I turned around and pointed at him, "Remember Will, Work and Life, separate the two." He grimaced and nodded his head. I walked off.
"Edward... I'm not sure..." I heard Adrian's voice from the classroom I was currently passing by and stood still.
"What? They can't be spies. Grace is too gentle; Will is too childish. But their cousin is suspicious... Grace said she suffered from loss of parents when she was very young. Maybe that's why she is so... shut off." Edward argued.
"Just be careful. Remember, spies can be uncovered and when they are, they seem innocent but they are far from it." Adrian reminded him. Adrian is very smart.
"I understand." Edward sighed. I took that as my cue to leave.
I sent Grace a text about what they said and she promised to cover our backs better. Will did the same and more professional than usual which is a huge surprise to me. Perhaps he had taken my words more seriously, but I am sure he will be the same old Will in a few days' time. I switched my phone off and went to the cafeteria.
