"Go! Run! Leave! Quick!" I shouted as I pulled Addie out of the room. My heart was beating wildly in my chest.
"What's going on?!" He screamed back, desperate to know what is going on. Multiple gun shots could be heard with the clashing of metal against metal.
"Nevermind that! Run!" I gripped his arm tightly and sprinted to the base. As soon as we reached the base, I turned around and placed his cheeks into my palms.
"Addie, listen. Look at me and listen. We're under attack, I need you to stay calm and leave on this ship with them. I will come back for you. Okay? I just need to find our parents-" I started, trying to keep him sane.
"No, let me come with you. Please. My parents..." A tear ran down his cheek as he interrupted.
"Addie, listen. You're a Prince. You need to lead your people to safety. Before us, there're more than thousands of people who need you. You're a Prince, you're a symbol of hope for them. Lead them to your uncle's castle for safety. Addie, I will look for your parents. They are the King and Queen, they're more than capable of taking care of themselves. But I have to look for them. I will come back to see you, I will bring them to you. Just go. If you love me, if you love us, you'll leave. My duty is to find them, your duty is to bring your people to safety. Now!" I shouted the last part. Addie unclipped the necklace around his neck.
"I'll wait for you to come." He placed the necklace in my palm and kissed my cheek, lingering a little longer than needed before taking a deep breath and put on a mask. He shouted to the guard as he run off to help his people board the flight. Knowing that the people are all boarded, I left to find his parents.
"Aren't you going to attend the party? It's my birthday though and as a friend..." Edward questioned as he offered an arm to Grace.
"I will, but I have duties to attend to. Just remember to always stay with Grace beside you, remember her golden mask, golden dress and weird citrus perfume. Clear?" I answered Edward.
"Crystal." He replied with a smile.
"Hey! Citrus smells great!" Grace protested. Edward chuckled while Will and I rolled my eyes.
"Let's run through the plans. Will?" I snapped my fingers.
Will recited, "The party is ongoing now. Prince will enter with Grace. Adrian will enter with his partner of the night and you and I will be on standby at all times. 01 and the rest are on standby. As soon as any suspicious movement is detected, inform you and wait for agency to come. If any attacks is made before the agency arrives, well good luck to us."
Grace rolled her eyes, "The last part is unnecessary."
"Change of plans, I'm not attending his party." Adrian said as he typed into his phone.
Edward furrowed his eyebrows and frowned, "Why?"
"I have no date and you always seem to forget that I'm a guard here. There's no need for me to walk down the aisle." Adrian replied while shrugging his shoulders, not seeming to care.
I looked at Adrian, "You have to attend, your relatives will be here. It's necessary for you to show your face to them. You can walk down the aisle alone or I can arrange someone else to walk with you if you'd like."
Adrian glanced at me and winked, "Unless it's you accompanying me, I'd prefer to walk alone."
Will grunted in disapproval. Grace smacked his head for his disrespect. I chuckled, "Well, I guess you'd have to walk down the aisle alone tonight, I won't be wearing a dress tonight, sorry to disappoint."
Adrian looked amused but said nothing. Edward wiped his palms on his sleeves, looking nervous, "So, when do I walk down the aisle and what to I introduce Grace as?"
I gave him a piece of cloth, "Relax, we're here. Don't show the enemy what you're nervous about. You're a Prince, there's nothing to worry about, we've got your back. Grace is your lady for tonight, but if you'd like to introduce her as more than your date, sure."
Will snapped his head to me and retorted, "Hell no, that's my sister there. She is just your partner for tonight. Don't think any dirty or irrelevant thoughts."
Grace rolled her eyes and smacked his head lightly, "Will, stop. I know you're my brother but just for tonight I think it's best we act lovey dovely. It will minimise the attraction of the enemy."
Will shot me a look and I shrugged in return, "You've heard your sister, let her do what she wants." I cast a look at the clock, "About time, Prince. Remember, if you feel threatened, the magic word is silver." He nodded and left the room with Grace.
Before they closed the door, I called out, "Grace, never let your guard down." She smiled and nodded before the two of them turned around and closed the door.
"You're next, Adrian." Will muttered while glaring at him. I nodded and Adrian left the room with a wink.
Will rolled his eyes, "I'll go now too. You... Just be careful. It's not that I don't trust you but just... Just be careful. Okay, I'm going now."
"No wait," I stopped him, "Will, be careful out there and alert me. We're a team."
"Separate work and life. Got it." Will nodded his head, putting on his mask before leaving.
Asthey all leave the room, I quickly changed out of my black suit into a dark blue silky gownwith a matching set of blue masks before setting off into the ballroom.
