The next morning, or early afternoon rather, me and Nicole went back to catching up. The day was very sunny thankfully  so we spent it outside, both holding a cup of tea like we were some sort of important ladies...not that we weren't, we just didn't do that.

"Okay, I told you everything I know and what happened to me so now it's your turn Nicole! How was your life without the most fabulous sparing partner to ever exist?" I laughed slightly failing to keep a straight face after I finished my part of the story. My statement managed to brighten up my old friend too as she laughed just as much if not more than I did.

"Fine, fine. Well first of all I had to go for the lousy guards at the academy to gain sparing partners and that was a pain...I mean once a while someone would show up but I kicked their butt as always. That changed when the war between O'Khasis and Scaleswind happened and later the darn peace treaty..." The lord of Scaleswind began her story. She went on to talk about the engagement and how she escaped... I mean ran away from Scaleswind and her Father. The girl told me how she met Aphmau and how she ended up in her village for a few weeks. She explained what happened during and after the Phoenix war and how she stopped it from killing too many people. Nicole also said how her life went after that and about her child, Dimitri, who was currently with his father.

When Nicole finished her part of the story, we just talked about how everything changed since then. We laughed and joked about the good old times until the sun began to set. That's when everything went downhill.

"Lady Nicole! The shadow souls returned!" One of the guards barged into the living room, where both of us were sat. I imidietly shot up, my hand reaching for my weapon, Nicole doing the same. I watched as the Lord stared at her guard.

"Didn't you find the portal and destroyed it?!" It was clear she was furious, everyone would be in her place unless they were a complete psychopath.

"We did m'lady, there must be another one near Scaleswind. As for now, all gates have been sealed and all guards are making sure that those things can't get in." The guard gave his report which seemed to slightly  calm Nicole down. The woman sighed and went to grab a sword of her weapon rack before looking at me and I knew exactly what she was asking of me. The lord needed my help to protect her people and I was going to do just that. I nodded confirming my decision to fight.

Me and Nicole were now at the front gates, looking at the amount of Shadow souls gathered outside just waiting to come in and cause havoc. My eyes widened at the sight but I wasn't scared. My friend needed me to help and I don't leave people that need assistance to themselves.

"I'll go on the walls, see if I can use my Magic to get them further away from the walls" I told Nicole before running off where I told her I would be.

Yes I know short chapter... and I took ages to update. I have but one excuse, I'm doing creative writing in my English class so all of my imagination goes there. But hey,I didn't abandon this like some other stuff...but we don't speak of that.

Also just a side note- I regret the storyline of Tangled in love so I just don't answer the comments even if I see them. I don't know why but I just find that story extremely cringey now...
