Burr's Pain

It's my fault
He's gone
It's my fault....

Words repeating
I feel myself Retreating
I run, but the words won't leave
I want to believe
It's not my fault

But in the end,
I understand
It is my fault

I left a friend
A man with family
Who depends
On him
Alone

I remember us,
Young
Bold
Thick-minded
We all sang a song full of joy
But that songs torn without repair

It's my fault
I'm now the one who shot him
I'm the monster who caught him

If I could go back in time
Re-write the story with a rhyme
Switch the fates around
And make it better
With a simple letter

I'm sorry
