Jacobs POV

*after the game*
"Okay class I am setting you up with partners for science fair!" My science teacher announces. This is the only class I have with all my friends. "Trisha and Samantha, Carter and Rylee, Hayes and Reagan, Jensyn and Blake, Jacob and Nika." Everyone turns and looks at me. Nika is the bad girl in the school that doesn't really have any friends. "Okay I would like you all to go in your groups." He announces. "Good luck." Rylee mouths to me. "Hey." Nika says as she slowly sits by me. "Hi." I say faking a smile. We start talking about the project and Nika doesn't seem to bad, she's actually really smart. "You can come to my house after school so we can work." I say not faking the smile this time. "Ok." She says giving me a small smile before the bell rings. I grab my stuff and walk out of the class. "Are you still okay?! She hasn't possessed you yet has she?!" Sammy says as her and Rylee walk beside me. I let out a small laugh. "No guys, she actually isn't that bad." I say before we split up to go to our lockers. When I open my locker I notice the picture I put in there on the first day of school of Sammy. I still like her, I really like her. I'm not sure she likes me though. "Hey Jacob." Someone says bringing me out of thought. I turn around and see Nika. "Oh, Nika hi!" I greet. "I Uhm.. don't have anyone to sit with at lunch. And I was wondering if I could.. uh-" I cut her off. "Yes, you can sit with me and my friends." I say giving her a smile. "Thanks." She says giving a small smile.
Rylee's POV

"Maybe Jay left without us." I shrug. "Well let's just go." Carter says. We walk out the doors of the school to go to lunch when we see him walking with someone. "Jacob!" Sams yells. He quickly turns around. "Oh guys I thought you left me." He says as he waits for us to catch up. The person he is walking with then stops and turns around. "Nika Kyler?!" I mumble to myself. "Uhm Jacob..." Hayes starts. "Oh, guys I invited Nika to sit with us. She said she didn't have anyone to sit with so I thought she could sit with us." He says giving us a smile.
Samantha's POV

"Seriou-" I get cut off by Rylee elbowing me. "That's fine." She says giving her fake smile. "Your to nice you know." I whisper in her ear. "What's wrong with her?" Reagan asks from behind us. "She's a bad girl, people say she drinks and does drugs." Rylee explains. "Ew." Jensyn snickers. "Rylee you of all people know that it could be a rumor." Reagan says. "Yeah, but it still could be true." Rylee says with a shrug. "Hi Nika, I'm Rylee." She introduces and we catch up to them. "I know who you are." She says as her smile fades. "Uhm okay." I hear rylee mumble to herself. "I'm Hayes." Hayes says giving a smile. "I know who all of you are." She says bluntly as she goes to walk by Jacob. "Something's up with that girl." Carter whispers to us. "No kidding." I agree. "Guys let's just be nice." Rylee whispers to us as she sees Nika and Jacob laughing.
*after lunch*
"Well that wasn't awkward." Hayes mumbles as we walk out of the cafeteria. "I'm sorry guys I can't do that again. If she's with us tomorrow I'm going somewhere else." Rylee says with a bad look on her face. "And that means I'll go somewhere else to." Hayes tags in. "Same!" I say. "I'm not gonna stay here and watch her poke at the meat saying "oh sorry little buddy." Carter says. "Vegetarians." He says under his breathe while rolling his eyes. (A/n nothing against Vegetarians!) we all start laughing.
Hayes' POV

*ding* Rylee's phone goes off. She looks at it and roles her eyes. "Who is it?" I ask as I stand by her. "It was Jacob he said 'you guys didn't like her?'" She says with a sigh. "Heck no!" Reagan says. "That was so awkward." Jensyn says with a laugh. "Of course we didn't." Rylee says. "Just don't think about it to much." I say with a smile as I take her phone and shove it in my back pocket. "Hey!" She says grabbing for her phone. I stand up and turn around. "Ya gonna get it?" I ask with a small laugh before sitting down. "Hayes! We're at school! That would look so bad!" Rylee gasps. I just shrug with a huge smile on my face. "Goals!" Samantha says as she takes a pic. "That is so going on my snapchat!" She says with a smile. "I look over at Rylee and we both let out a little laugh.
|Jacobs POV|
*after school*
I hear a knock at the door as I run downstairs and open it. "Hey Nika!" I say with a smile. "Hey." She says with a small smile. "Here, let's go to my room. Where's it's quieter." I say. She follows me up the stairs and into my room. "So what should our topic be?" I start out.
An hour later my mom walks in with snacks. "Break time!" She says with a huge smile. She glances over at Nika and a worried expression goes across her face. "We'll talk later." I tell her as I push her out of my room. "She seems nice." Nika finally says after a moment of silence.
