Snakes on a Plane

When the dark spots had cleared from my vision, we were in a much smaller, cleaner space. I took a moment to realize we were in a plane bathroom.
Ethan was squished up against my shoulder, Lee was forced to crane her neck to avoid my chest (rude) and Lyssa was looking quite content sitting on the sink, now in a bottle-green jacket, black jeans and boots.
Lee tried to shuffle away, but ended up smacking her hip into the toilet and clapping a hand over my mouth to muffle a snicker.

I looked at Lyssa. "No offence, ma'am, but wouldn't it be easier to zap us to Australia?"
Ethan glanced at Lyssa too, "Is it wise to make the goddess of madness angry in a confined space?" He muttered to himself.
Lys shook her head, "There is a monster on this plane you have to deal with." She said, jerking her head to the door. Lee paled beyond her usual chalky complexion.
"In this small a space? Where is it?" She whispered, "...Ma'am?"
Lyssa shrugged. She was now cleaning her nails with a screw. I was nervous to ask where it had come from.

"It won't attack until the descent." Lyssa said, interrupting the frantic whispered conversation between Lee and I. I relaxed slightly.
"The plane trip takes 23hrs," Ethan said, squinting at the schedule Lee had dropped. I wondered if he had much more severe dyslexia than me.

We were all just relaxing into semi-comfortable positions when someone tried to open the door. Lyssa's eyes widened.
I said, "Lee, fade out. I'll stay here and deal with it. Lyssa, is there any possibility--"
But Lyssa had already grabbed Ethan and they both disappeared. Lee quickly blended into the wall and I flushed the toilet. I turned on the tap, wet my hands, and unlocked the door to see a heavily pregnant woman standing in the aisle.
Mentally giving myself a beating, I apologised furiously and stepped out, letting her in. I saw a flicker as Lee fled, too.

Now I was stuck in the aisle, with no seat to go to. I tried the other bathroom door: nothing.
Lee followed as I made my way casually up the aisle, towards the next cubicles. I got a few weird looks but all-in-all my attire wasn't too out-of-the-ordinary and Freckles was strapped to my back, under the army jacket Ethan had lent me.

We slipped into an empty cubicle and locked the door. "How do we contact Lyssa?" I asked.
"And Ethan." Lee said, closing the toilet lid and sitting on it.
"Who?" I said innocently.
She rolled her eyes.
We waited.

Two minutes in and my legs were restless. I walked around the metre square of room, pacing as I tried to figure out how we'd contact the other half of the quest. Assuming Lyssa counted.
Lee meditated as I unsheathed my sword and tried to practice.

Suddenly, something slammed into the door. Lee 'woke' and scrambled to check the lock. But, despite the 'Engaged' sign, someone was apparently body spamming their way in.
Lee looked frantic. I was about to sheathe my sword when I felt an odd nausea in the back of my throat. Like what I felt back when Jamie...
In my reckless, uninformed way, I spouted, "Monster."
To my surprise, Lee nodded.
"I'll open door, you sheesh-kebabe it." She whispered. I hesitated but nodded.
She reached for the handle as the bumpy plastic of the door buckled against another slam. She tried to slide it open, but the warped shape wouldn't move.

We had to wait for it to come in.

Lee and I backed against the opposite wall (moving 10cm) and tensed as another blow was taken.
Finally, it crumpled and the... pregnant woman stumbled in.
"Um..?" I said, for some reason reluctant to skewer a pregnant woman. This hesitation dissolved when her façade did.
Her long, dark green maternity dress morphed into two long, thick tails that tangled behind her in the cramped aisle. I blinked, and she was a full-blown, scaly snake woman.
"No way." I breathed.
Lee, discouraged from my lack of sword-waving, grabbed my wrist and flapped it around.
The snake lady watched in confusion as we scuffled around, trying to get space to wave a sword. She backed up slightly when I asked her to.
Finally, I got room, and attacked blindly. I stabbed forward, sinking the sword hilt-deep into her shoulder.
My mistake.
As I tried to pull it out, the sword created a suction effect. Of course it would. The ichor couldn't escape the wound and my sword was pretty stuck.
I tried slicing upwards, and managed to cut off her arm - much to her surprise. She wailed as she disintegrated into sand.

Lee wasted no time. She swept the sand into the cubicle and managed to wedge the door closed. We were ankle-deep in monster.
I had just sheathed my sword when Lyssa and Ethan appeared, covered in dust. I coughed a bit. "Where did you guys go?" Lee asked as she gave up her seat for Lyssa.
Ethan shared a glance with the goddess and neither of them answered. This bothered me, but I hid it.
Finally, Ethan noticed the sand.
"Um?" He said, letting it sit through his fingers.
Lee quickly explained, but looked at me. "Why did you say 'no way'?" She said.
I smirked slightly and mumbled something.
"What?" Lyssa said, sharply.
"Snakes on a plane." I said, slightly louder. It took Lee a second, but she caught on and frowned at me disapprovingly.
"Dracnae." She explained to the confused Lyssa.
Lee smacked me over the back of the head, which I thought was unnecessary.

"OK, so only 22.3 hours left." I said brightly, twenty minutes later. Lyssa stirred from her daydreaming, and, without warning, began to glow.

I felt a hand close around mine, and a faint voice in my ear. It was very peaceful, until my hearing clicked in.
"Where is your house?" Lyssa screamed, directly into my ear. My eyes snapped open and I bit back a yell.
Lyssa was glowing red. Her hand was in mine, and she was the only thing keeping me from plummeting to my death. We were hovering in the air. The ocean toiled below us, and I looked up in shock as our plane flew away. She'd literally ejected us.
"Um...?" Lee was holding Lyssa's other hand, and had Ethan on her other side. Wind whipped at our clothing, and Lyssa's hair kept flying into my face.
"Where do you live?" Lyssa asked again, at a more reasonable volume.
"Uhhhhh..." I told her the address and we were gone again.
