I shut the tv off, and stormed out of my room, shoving my phone into the pocket of my cargo pants on the way.
I also grabbed my laptop bag, and put it over my shoulder.
My mom grabbed my arm right as I opened the front door.
"Where do you think you're going?"She scoffed.
"To visit someone."I said, shaking my arm free.
She slammed the door shut.
"Who?"She asked
"Ti---I mean, Phoenix."I shook off my mistake.
"Oh, no you don't. You're not going all the way to New York to see someone you met online."She shook her head.
"Mom, we've been talking for like, two years now."I groaned, rolling my eyes.
"Too bad. You're not leaving."She said.
"....Yeah, I am."I yanked the door open, and lept up onto the railing of the porch.
Before mom could grab me, I threw myself into the air, and snapped out my wings, pushing them down with all my strength.
I shot upwards, looking down at her angry face.
"Carli Pettyjohn, get back here RIGHT NOW!!"She shouted.
"Not till you use my real name~"I teased, flying off.
She growled, angrilly walking back inside.
~Meanwhile~
"Hahahahaha!!! I love flying!!"I exclaimed, swooping downwards, then sharply going back up right before I hit the ground.
I had never visited anyone out of state before, but I ahd always told Phoenix that I was coming to live with her when I got sick of my parents.
Of course....I always said that jokingly....
Oh, well~
I flew for hours, nonstop, ignoring the cries and growls of my stomach.
I scanned the houses, not sure if I was even out of Pennsylvania yet.
My eyes drifted shut for a second, and I fell into a state of sleep until the wind jerked my wings upwards, causing me to wake up, and begin frantically flapping the large black wings with blood red tips.
My wings litteraly looked like someone had dipped the tips in blood.
I shook my head.
"No time to think...getting tired...uhh..."My eyes drifted shut again, and I began to plummet to the earth.
SPLASH!!!
When I woke up, I was somewhere warm, although I was freezing cold, and soaking wet.
"Where am I?"I thought, sitting up.
It appeared to be a house.
"You're finally awake!! Did you enjoy your nap, lazy?"
"Hey, only one person can call me lazy, and that's--"I stopped dead when I saw the girl in front of me turn around, revealing small fiery red wings with a few orange feathers scattered throughout.
"--Phoenix..."I finished, plopping back onto the couch.
"Don't go back to sleep!!"She exclaimed, kicking the couch.
"I'm not."I scoffed, sitting up again.
I finally got to see Phoenix in real life.
She had caramel colored skin, long wavy black hair, and brown eyes.
