Valen stepped into the shadowy halls, whispers surrounding him. He knew they were meant to scare him, but they didn't. He had no fear. He whipped out his lightsaber and slid his thumb over the activator, his senses on high alert. Valen approached the main room slowly, the dull green light illuminating his path. Booming voices were suddenly heard:
"These madmen are worthless to the Emperor!"
"Well it was your idea, not mine!" "You said this would draw out the Child, where do you two think he is now?! Probably among them!"
"No no no you three are fools, the Emperor's Child can't fall to this curse!"
Valen listened for a while longer then stepped from the shadows of the thrones he had hid behind and extended his arms.
"My lords! I was sent by the Sith Council of the Empire for a holocron." One looked at him and chuckled.
"Well, here he is! Vitiate's heir!" Valen stepped back, surprised at this statement.
"M-my lord I'm afraid you are mistaken, I am son of Cordo and Sari Xander, slaves. I have no blood connections to Emperor Vitiate." Suddenly, a fifth figure appeared in front of him, atop a giant, dark throne: Emperor Vitiate, Dark Lord of all Sith.
"My child, your bloodline is mine. Centuries ago I took a mortal woman as my bride. She bore a child, then died. My grief was overwhelming, and I forsook the line, for it was cursed with death. It seems you are my last heir." Valen ran his hand through his hair and blew out, barely able to wrap his mind around this. Vitiate tossed him the holocron and smiled grimly. "You have a task at hand, but I will speak with you soon, my Child." Valen nodded and bowed, then quickly left the Temple. As he sped towards the City, he peered at the holocron, mulling over what had happened in his mind.
