Everything seemed to be moving in slow motion. The Founder had fallen over the edge of the island, and I was about to fall over too. This wouldn't have happened had I rescued the Founder, instead of backing up Lukas. But I have to live with the consequences. Being I would fall into the Void with the Founder, dying, leaving my friends stuck in Sky City. I felt someone grab my hand right before time sped back up again and I looked up from the Void. I looked into Lukas's blue eyes, which were wide with terror, as he held my hand. He was pretty banged up from his fight with Aiden, since Aiden had grown a lot stronger, and I knew Lukas was weak. Either way, he still held my hand, not letting go, even though the inevitable was looming before us. He had to let me fall, otherwise he'd be dragged over with me. "Lukas." I began. "No! Don't say that Jess! We're gonna get out of here!" Lukas retorted. "Lukas. You know as well as I what is going to happen. I don't want you to fall over the edge too." I calmly stated. "No! We will get out of this, so don't you let go!" Lukas retorted again. "Lukas...." I began.

His blue eyes were crying, and I knew he was just lying to himself. "Lukas, please, let me go." I pleaded. "No! Jess, I am not going to let you fall!" Lukas snapped. I eventually gave up trying to plead with him. I managed to pull myself higher up. I pressed my lips to Lukas's as I wrapped my arms around his neck. He melted into the kiss after a moment, loosening his grip on my arms. Time slowed down once again as I unwrapped my arms from Lukas, and I started to fall. His blue eyes were wide with horror and shock as he watched me fall. Time sped back up, and I heard Lukas shout my name. Eventually, the island in the sky disappeared, leaving only me, the Void, and my inevitable death.

~Lukas's POV~

"JESSE!" I shouted. Her green eyes were filled with tears as she fell, down, into the Void. "N-No... Jesse..." I sobbed. She sacrificed herself to save me. I heard the others rush over to me. "Lukas, I'm sorry...." Petra whispered. Without needing to look, I knew Petra, Ivor and Milo all had tears in their eyes. "We have to stop Aiden. It's what Jesse would want." I said, standing up and getting my sword out. "Aiden is going down. For Jesse." Petra said. We started walking to the minecarts and hopped in, taking us up to the Founder's throne room. Mobs started attacking the others. Ivor threw me an enchanted diamond sword, since he knew I would be the one to take down Aiden. I ran outside to the platform Aiden was on. "You don't know when to give up, do you Lukas? Jesse thought that she could beat me, and look where it's landed her! A death in the Void! Now I intend to have that same pleasure in throwing you to your death in the Void!" Aiden shouted. He rushed towards me, and I blocked his attack. He jabbed, and I dodged. Aiden and I locked swords, and I pushed him back.

Aiden took a moment to recover before running towards me, sword up. I blocked the attack, and landed a few jabs of my own, but were all blocked. Aiden and I locked swords again, and I twisted his sword downwards before using all the strength I could muster to launch it into the sky. The force knocked Aiden backwards, and his sword fell over the edge into the Void. "Wait! Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait! I-I surrender! I surrender! You want your flint and steel? Here! Take it! Just, please, don't hurt me..." Aiden pleaded, throwing the flint and steel at my feet. I picked it up and heard a voice behind me. "You did it. Now we must get out of here!" Reginald exclaimed. I heard screams from the town, along with the sounds of monsters. Reginald then eyed Aiden. "What do you want to do with him?" Reginald asked. "You can't leave me here! Take me with you!" Aiden pleaded. As much as I want to throw him off the edge, to suffer the same fate Jesse did, I knew what Jesse would say to me in this situation.

'Don't, revenge is never the answer.' Or something like that. "Come on, you're coming with us." I ordered. "Th-Thank you, Lukas." Aiden said, following. "More than you deserve, frankly." Reginald said. We ran to the town, where everyone was waiting. "Lukas, we can't kill all the mobs! It would be impossible!" Petra exclaimed. That means all we can do is wait for death. Or we could jump. "What would you rather do, stay here and die a death by mobs? Or jump?" I called to everyone around. Whispers ran through the crowd as they thought of what to do. "We will jump!" Milo proclaimed, voicing the other citizens. Everyone jumped into the waterfall, and the water carried us over the edge of the destroyed island, into the Void below. As I fell, I watched friends and family holding hands. Petra and Ivor air-swam over to me and we all held hands. "This is it, then. The end of our adventures. Dying in the Void." Ivor said. "At least we'll see Jesse again." Petra added. I nod in agreement before closing my eyes, awaiting death. A shout made me open my eyes. "Look!" someone shouted. I looked below us and saw land, with a lake we were about to fall in. We fell into the lake, and resurfaced. Land was under my feet! A thought suddenly struck me. "If there's land, then Jesse might have survived!" I exclaimed.

I climbed out of the lake and began frantically searching for the familiar raven-haired and emerald-eyed girl. My gaze fell onto a woman with black hair and yellow-ish orange robes on. The Founder! Her back was turned to the lake and I ran up to her. She looked at me and asked, "Are my people all right?" I nodded, and she breathed a sigh of relief. "What about Jesse?" I asked. The Founder motioned for me to come, and when I walked closer, I saw someone in the Founder's arms. "Jesse!" I exclaimed, kneeling beside her. She was knocked out. "She must have fainted from the lack of oxygen as she fell. It would happen naturally for someone who isn't used to high altitudes like those of Sky City." the Founder explained. I gently held Jesse in my arms, and waited for her to wake up. After a minute, her eyes fluttered open and her emerald green gaze fell on me. "L-Lukas...?" Jesse whispered. "Jess!" I exclaimed, hugging her. She sat rigid with shock before she hugged back. "I thought I lost you..." I whispered. "That's never gonna happen." Jesse whispered back.

When we pulled out of the hug, Jesse grabbed the collar of my jacket and pulled me closer, pressing her lips to mine. The move shocked me, since the last time she kissed me was when we were in Sky City, clinging to the side of the island. She told me to let her fall, and I refused to let her go. She had kissed me, which made me loosen my grip, and she had let go, falling down into what we thought at the time was just the Void. At the time, I had thought that she only kissed me to make me let her go. Why was she kissing me again? (Lukas, you are so oblivious XD) Jesse pulled away, looking at me with her emerald green eyes. I stared at her, my eyes wide with shock. "J-Jess, w-why did you do that?" I asked. Jesse's green eyes filled with shock. "You don't know? Lukas, I love you." Jesse whispered. Everything fell into place with those three words. All the strange feelings I've felt for her, why I always feel like I'm going to lose my cool in front of her. It's because I love her too. "I-I understand if you don't feel the same about me. I just-" Jesse was cut off as I gently held her cheek and pulled her closer to me, kissing her. She melted into the kiss, and we pulled away. "I love you too, Jess." I whispered. Jesse wrapped her arms around my neck and kissed me.
