Jack Frost
It's summer time here in the southern hemisphere. Sure, I'm the one who brings around winter, but I personally enjoy summer. The sight of summer brightening up the world's horizons, everything glowing
with life. People may not see it the way I do, for that I feel sorry for them, but I'm all the way up in the clouds, embracing absolutely everything there is to see. And let me tell you, when you're up this high, it's impossible for one to not take in all the beauty. Huh, that sounds like something an old friend of mine would say.
Aah...the good old days. Good old Hiccup the dreamer, Rapunzel the thinker, Merrida the fighter.
Back then everything was great, until the day I fell into the ice. I was resurrected by the moon, as a guardian. You would suppose that's good for me, right? Because sometimes, I just question myself, why me? Why am I the guardian? Why does the almighty responsibility of protecting the children of the world fall onto me? All I could do was wait and hope time will tell the answer.
*************
One night, I flew to Santa's base at the north pole, he welcomes me anytime. This time, I just decided to pay a visit to the gang. I saw Bunny standing in the meeting room.
"'Evening, Bunny," I said casually. "G'day mate," he put his arm around my shoulder, "take a look kid. The moon. Pretty ain't she?" I took a look. He was right. It's perfectly curved edges seemed to make it stand out from the stars, giving the sky a faint glow. I could imagine the gods living on the moon, watching over us, protecting us.
"Look kid," he said, pointing a paw at the moon. The moon gave a shimmering light beam, landing onto a disc in front of us. "It's alright mate, it aint gonna bite, she's giving us a message." The light in front of us glowed intensly, I have never seen it do this before. It gave off a final flash, one so bright I had to turn my head and cover my eyes.
The beam of light morphed into an image, that of an island. Somehow, the moon told me the name of this island and I knew where it was. If there's one thing that we guardians know, it's that the moon is mysterious, giving its knowledge in mysterious ways.
The beam morphed three more times. Showing images of my childhood friends, Merrida, Hiccup and Rapunzel. "What?", I said, startled by the images. "Why would the moon show them?", I whispered to myself.
"Who in the world were they Jack?", said Tooth, I realising that the whole gang was watching the whole light show. There was Santa and Sandy. "Just some good old partners in crime."
Old Hiccup the dreamer, Rapunzel the thinker and Merrida the fighter ain't gonna be so old anymore, are they now? Look out world. Here comes the rise of the brave tangled dragons!
