The Demon King

I came too in a dimly lit room. I was dressed in finer clothing than the prison rags I'd originally been in. I looked around in my surroundings and noticed immediately I wasn't alone.

I thought...no hoped that it was the vampire queen but I was so wrong. So...oh so unbelievably wrong. It was a demon and my most favorite one at that.

Keiro.

"Your awake? Good I have half a mind to kill you for what you've done and what you've probably become"He said.

How did I even get here I don't understand this. All of this is happening to fast. I'm being overwhelmed! No keep your cool Charlie and bide your time.

"What have I ever done to you Keiro?" I asked with as calm a voice as I could manage.

"You have defied me at several turns since arriving at Dorcobia"he said.

That was the demon capital but that can't be right....can it? In the world of demons the strong do rule but the demons run a council called The Council of Demon Kings. The demon capital, Dorcobia, is run by the head of the Council. Which of course is the strongest demon.

This makes him a king of kings but with or without a majority vote from the council he's virtually powerless.

"You have escaped your cell. Assaulted one of my guards. Stolen said guard's weapons. But none of these compare to the worst crime you've committed."he tells me through gritted teeth.

I don't know what it was in me that made me say what I said next but I replied "what? It gets worse than that? Dammit I thought I'd nailed it all for sure!" I immediately was rewarded with a wicked smile but his eyes spoke a more malevolent language.

"Your arrogance never ceases to amaze me. However not even your undiscovered powers can protect you from my rage and all crushing anger at what v you've done. You have courted my wife. And by demon law you and I will fight to the death in single combat winner gets my wife and my throne it's already clear what the lose gets..." he let that sit for a sec.

"I haven't courted your wife! She came to me in that hall and I had a talk with her! I didn't even answer her question before I fainted from some strange smell!" I cried.

"On the contrary even if that were true you no longer have a say in the matter. My wife has taken the liberty of making your decision public already. Now as for the fight you have your choice in weapons for it matters not boy the result will be the same. You have three days to prepare for the fight. On the third day the council shall arrive to witness the winner. Tarry not boy there's no escape this time may go anywhere in the between here the kitchen, the training grounds, and the armory. I await you on the arena field of battle." And with that he vanished leaving a dark cloud of evil vapor in his wake...

Things are heating up and in the demon capital Charlie is finding things especially chaotic. What did he get dragged into? Well whatever the situation he'll have to adapt and quickly for in 3 days it will either by a critical turning point or his funeral.
