JOHN'S POV
It's been three days since they took Charlie from us. I've had to step up as leader of the creed. The Creed is a group of highly trained assassins who know only two things.
Kill demon kind. And show absolutely no mercy while doing it.
Charlie founded The Creed after demons ransacked his home as a boy and slaughtered his father and butchered his mother while he watched hidden in the closet and dared not even whisper his grief lest he face the same fate. He trained relentlessly in the demonic arts he knows things about them that are best left unknown.
I wish I had that knowledge. But by the time Charlie was 17 he was ready for his first hunt and he'd chosen to hunt the ones that'd killed his family. He tracked them down to an abandoned house and taught them a most horrible lesson in pain. And just when they thought it couldn't get worse it got worse when he completely erased them both from existence with a painful exacration spell.
They tell you vengeance isn't worth it but I've never seen a man so fulfilled.
I was the first to find Charlie. My parents died in a similar way and together we got the scum that did it. That's how every member of The Creed comes to find out about The Creed.
We were on a hunt with our newest recruit. Sarah was her name. Man that girl was beautiful. She could stop entire realms with a flick of her hair. She had light blonde hair and the most sparkling blue eyes you'd ever seen or ever would see in your life.
By now the creed had made a name for itself among demonkind. As we cornered down the killer of Sarah's family we weren't expecting four demons waiting for us.
You can already guess who was the leader of this well coordinated ambush.
Keiro.
The demon king himself and his royal guard. Charlie wasted no time in engaging him and one of his guards head on.
He pulled out his mighty sword Cleaver. He'd made the sword out of demon blood so it was red and it caught fire when he cut down a demon which the poor guard didn't see coming.
In a blur of red motion he'd beheaded the demon and taken a few appendages with its head.
With his flaming sword he advanced on the king who was ready and snarling.
I could no longer watch the fight as the other two guards had advanced on me and Sarah.
We didn't have swords like Charlie but ours were made of silver which was blessed in a holy chapel. We'd both been trained to the point where we dreamed of nothing but demons and combat and the blood of our enemies running down our blades.
We were trained for the kill and we'd carry it out without hesitation as was the code of The Creed.
I was the first to engage. I raised my sword and used it as a second limb. I thrust at the demon. He parried and made a slashing blow for my sternum which would've opened me up if it had not been for Charlie's ruthless training.
I blocked this blow with my sword and flicked my wrist. His blade flew across the room and before he could even be shocked at my skill I gutted him the same way they other demons gutted my parents.
I turned to see if Sarah needed help but I was greeted with a sight I'll not soon forget.
Sarah had thrown her blade to side after disarming her attacker and was savagely pummeling him and kicking him on the floor in a hand to hand combat match that she had clearly won.
She did not give him mercy as he begged for his life but rather responded with a face that was as emotionless as her tone.
"You didn't show my parents mercy when you beat them and made me watch. You knew I was in the cupboard. You knew I wouldn't come out because I was afraid. You spared my life so that I would live in fear. But I won't make the same mistake with you. Look upon me demon and see the face of death." And then she drop kicked him in the face so hard that her heel went through his face and cracked the tile beneath.
I couldn't be dumbstruck in that moment. I'd have time to congratulate her later. I turned and saw the demon king standing over a bloody Charlie. He held Charlie's sword and I knew then that Charlie was done for there was no way either of us could save him. And then Keiro did the unthinkable.
He laughed and then sheathed Cleaver. He turned to me and said " You'll find him in Dorcobia if any of you cowards dare to approach my city."
I screamed Charlie's name as I ran toward them. But in a flash of blood light they were both gone.
After Sarah and I returned to headquarters and told the story The Creed made me the new leader.
We have found a way to get to the demon capital. I will use the portal in the old abandoned subway tunnel beneath the city. I will bring a team of our finest assassins. We will stealthily storm the city and we will slaughter ANY demon that comes in our way.
And once Charlie is safe with us we can set about conquering the Council Of Demon Kings.
No mercy shown.
No quarter given.
No exceptions.
As is the code of The Creed...

What do you guys think of the characters? You'll remember John from the first chapter written from Charlie's pov. How do you think John will react when he finds out his mentor is in fact a vampire? The most powerful species of demon? Hate to leave you with a cliff hanger but this way I know you'll read the next chapter. This chapter is more of a fill in because I was rereading today and I noticed some pretty major holes. Don't worry I'll keep filling them in. Plz comment and vote😊
