The next day at school, Adrien couldn't stop thinking about Ladybug. She was so beautiful and confident. Her voice was even better than Jasmine Cephas Jones' and that was saying something. He longed to see Marinette again and he wanted to sing with her. When they had sung the previous night, it felt right. It was just them and the music. Their voices harmonized with ease, like a Reese's peanut butter cup. A mix of salty and sweet combined to make the perfect flavor.  Adrien didn't mind playing the bass either, in fact, he really enjoyed it. He had even been practicing songs when no one was looking. It was a perfect get away from his dad and cello.

Nino had said that Adrien wasn't in the band yet, but if he was he needed an alter ego.

All day, he was nervously awaiting 7pm. Adrien brainstormed different names and decided to be based on an animal. He wrote a list of ideas in his notebook:

Black Panther, Blue Beetle, Chein Blanc, Titan, Owl, Tortue Vert, Tigre Orange, Crocodile

Then it hit him.

Chat Noir.

Adrien had had a cat when he was younger called Plagg. Also, weren't ladybugs supposed to bring luck and black cats were bad luck? It was perfect. His color scheme could match his bass guitar, black with green and gold accents. He could make puns all day. He could be himself. That is if he was allowed in the band.

7pm came and Adrien called AK. They picked up and he was surprised to hear Alya's voice on the other end of the line.

"Nino is waiting outside." she said into the phone, "He'll break the news." This worried Adrien. Alya had talked like it was bad news. Getting into this band would mean the world to him.

He peered out the window and saw Nino standing where he was the day before. The boy wore the same outfit as he did yesterday, he caught Adrien's eye and waved for him to come out. Adrien did so and they started to walk immediately.

"You're in."

"Seriously?!" Adrien jumped with excitement. He ran his fingers through his hair, messing it up on accident, "Thank you!" the two teens bro hugged. This was the start of a great friendship.

"First off, we have to do something about this," Nino gestured at Adrien's clothes, hair, everything. "Alya and Juleka are waiting for you at the club. Have you thought of a name yet?"

At first, Adrien was confused but realized what his friend was talking about quickly, "Chat Noir?" he said nervously.

"Chat Noir. It has a nice ring to it. I like it." they kept walking and Adrien let out a sigh of relief at Nino's words.

The two boys stopped outside the nightclub and Nino rapped on the door. 

"Well, well if it isn't our new test subject," Juleka had answered, her red eyes glinted devilishly, "Alya, it's time for the ritual." she took Adrien by the wrist and pulled him into a salon chair.

"We've got a lot of work to do on this one." Alya had a mischievous smirk on her face, an electric razor in one hand and a stick of eyeliner in the other. Juleka had a piercing gun at the ready.

"Wait. Guys, what are you doing?" Adrien got out of the chair as the razor came closer to his head.

"It's a ritual in the band. Do you want to fit in or not?" Adrien glared at Alya and apprehensively sat in the chair.

"Let's go." Juleka nodded to her friend and they got to work.

There was no mirror in front of him so Adrien couldn't see what he looked like. He jumped when the gages were put in his ear and he had to admit that the cartilage piercing hurt like hell. The boy saw his blonde hair fall onto his smart clothes and started to freak out a little. Juleka and Alya calmed him down a little forcefully then continued to shave. Alya did his eyeliner while Juleka picked out some clothes for him to wear.
