Giggles and Screams

The next few day were, in Jay's opinion, extremely boring! I mean how was he supposed to have fun if all he was allowed to do was wait around upstairs and try to listen in to the adults as they made their great plan? Then finally on Saturday his mum came and told him that they were going to put the plan into action and that he was free to come along if he wished.
On the way there Jay was squashed between his Aunty Ivy and his Mum.
"Aunty Ivy?"
The leaf covered woman turned her head,
"Yes Jay?"
"What is the Great Plan?"
Ivy looked to Count Vertigo for confirmation and was rewarded with a curt nod.
"Well Jay babe, Aunty is going to let some of her babies grow in the most important cities in U.S and we are gonna kill as many league members as possible!"
Jay grinned but it was soon replaced with a small frown that crinkled the skin between his eyebrows.
"What am I doing?"
Harley sighed and pulled the boy onto her lap, gently stroking his hair.
"Jay sweetie... We don't want you to get hurt so mummy needs you to promise to stay inside the building ok?"
Jay felt his stomach twist,
"So im not doing anything?"
"Sorry baby no."
He bit his lip,
"Ok Mummy I promise."
"Good boy Jay! We love ya remember!"
"Yeah mum love you too."
What Harley didn't notice was Jay had his fingers crossed the whole time...

CRASH! A loud commotion was heard outside the greenhouse and Jay immediately ran up the stairs to peer out of the window. What he saw surprised him. There on the green stood the entire baby League! Kid Flash, Superboy, Miss Martian, Aqualad, and Artemis! And I know what your thinking. Why didn't Jay mess up their names on purpose? Well, in his opinion it's awful when people do it to him and why remember two names when you only have to remember one? He watches in awe as they take down Count Vertigo, The Brain, Gröd and his parents. A wince is obvious on his face when he sees Artemis kick his Aunty Ivy in the temple.
Beep!
Oh No. Several red flashing lights catch his eye. Bombs! In a few seconds Jay has clambered out of the window and triple back flipped down to ground, bending his knees to avoid taking all the impact of the fall. A shocked silence falls over the young teen heroes.
"Hiya! My names Jay!"
The heroes blink. Jay rushed over to Artemis and says,
"Well Arty nice to see you again! I've been soooo bored without you! Cameron went and got himself arrested! Can you believe it!?" Jay shook his head,
"Well it was nice talking to ya but I gotta go!" He turned and was about to leave when a large black fist flew into his head knocking him unconscious.

Black spots dance in front of him and his eyelids flutter open. Jay lets himself regain his senses before taking in his surroundings. He is sat on a small bed with blue sheets and a white pillow. A brown dresser and wardrobe are opposite him and just to there left is a door. Ignoring the throbbing pain in his head, Jay get up and walks at brick pace towards the door. That is went he notices what he is wearing. Gone was his blue and black attire and in its place was black jeans, a green hoodie and a black jacket. Jay reaches up to his face and is relieved to find that his mask is still there! He couldn't cope if they started to ask questions about his past. He might have a panic attack. He reaches out his hand and twists the doorknob. To his utter shock the door swings open to reveal an empty hallway. Soft chatter can be heard from one direction and Jay quietly tiptoes that way. The end of the hallway opens into a large living areas with a kitchen, sofa and T.V. The young heroes are all gathered around the counter in deep conversation. Slowly Jay sneaks behind them and wrapped his arms around Artemis from behind. The archer jumps in shock but then a small smile crossed her face and she starts stoking the boys raven hair.
"buna Jay!"
(Hello Jay)
He quickly replies,
"Buna ziua Artemis ai de gând să mă prezint?"
(Hello Artemis are you going to introduce me?)
The team stands there in shock as the green clad girl grins, ruffles his hair and then turns back to them.
"Guys this Jay. He was taken in by the Joker when he was eight and he is my best friend! Jay this is-"
"Kid Flash aka Wally West, Miss Martian aka Megan Moores, Superboy aka Connor Kent and Aqualad aka Kaldur'aam! Correct?"
Wally is the first to snap out of the shocked state,
"How do you know our identities? And did you say he was taken in by the Joker?"
Jay bites down hard on his lip.
"Yes she did and in answer to your question Wallace, I hacked the bat cave and read all the files!"
Superboy glares.
"We should lock him up. Who knows what he'll do?"
Jays eyes widen and Aqualad nods in agreement.
"That does seem like the best course of action."
Tears well up in Jays eyes and he pales. Artemis notices and anger leap through her vains.
"No one touches him! Do you hear me!? Not you not Wally! Not even Batman lays a finger on him!"
"I won't lay a finger on who?"
....

Duh Duh Duh! The big bad bats showed up! I just love Artemis+Dick/Jay friend ship! Awwwww! Till next time Te iubesc birdies!
