We walked up to our rooms to get changed and shower first, then headed back down. He showed me a little cafe a few blocks away that we walked to, casualy holding hands. Well, I think it was just a casual gesture...

When we arrived, he ordered an Earl Grey tea with a splash of milk and a bit of sugar, and, figuring I would try something new, ordered the same. He told me it was his favorite kind of tea. When we sat down, (without having to wear our tea) he asked me a question that I wish he hadn't.

"Do you know what I do?" He said simply.

      "What?"

He laughed nervously and then said, "My job, do you know what I do?" I slowly nodded, and he looked relieved. "Good. imagine having to explain to your-" he stopped, then continued, looking at his plate. "friend, that you were an actor." I laughed, my stomach was churning at what he just almost said..

He grabbed my hand from across the table. By now, my insides were screaming and it felt like there was something I had been missing, something I didn't know I was missing, but that feeling dissapeared when I looked in his eyes. Oh no, he's going to tell me something. Probably something bad. It's always bad.

"Cassie I-" He sighed, then continued. "I am not going to lie to you. I like you. Really like you. And I know that this may seem odd, considering we just met and all, but I want to see if the feelings are true. So, Cassie, will you join me for dinner tonight?" My head could barely process what he just said. But somehow my mouth found the words that my brain just couldn't thiink of.

"I'd be delighted," I said, smiling. I could barely contain myself. His phone started buzzing. He apologized, then answered it. A look of dissapointment came across his face.

"I'm so sorry, but I have to go. I need to meet up with Luke, apparently he wants me to do another interview tomorrow. I'll be back by 7:00 though," he said, getting up to leave. We walked out of the doors together, and he gave me a kiss on the forehead. I started one way and he started the other.

I suddenly found myself in an alley, letting out a scream before a hand covered my mouth.

TOM'S POV

Screaming. I heard screaming. I quickly turned around, but Cassie was not there. She should be there, on the sidewalk walking back to the hotel. My heart nearly stopped. I started running, and found her in an alley, being attacked by two men. I didn't think, I just acted. It was all a blur, though I remember my hand stiking a face and a sharp pain on my own. Cassie had knocked one of the men out with a bar lying on the ground, and the other ran away. Her wide hazel eyes were frightened and all she could mutter out was, "Y-you-your face.."

I wrapped my arms around her in a tight embrace, then pulled back. "Are you alright? Did they hurt you?" She shook her head, and I pulled her back into a hug. She laughed a bit then pulled away.

"I don't think it's me you should be worrying about. Your face is bleeding, Tom." She was right. I hadn't noticed it before, but the left side of my face was throbbing with pain.

CASSIE'S POV

"Oh," he said, bringing a hand up to his face. when he pulled it back, it was red with blood.

I pulled out my phone to call the police. When they arrived, the man I had knocked out came to, and they arrested him. One of the officers pulled out a first-aid kit to patch up Tom. I explained everything to the other officer, all the while looking at Tom. He smiled back at me.

Once they left, Tom took my hand as we walked back to the hotel.

"I think I'm just going to reschedule with Luke," he said, smiling. He never let me out of his sight the rest of the way back.
