The sun would soon go down the horizen, so I needed to head home. The bags full of food were quite heavy in my small arms. And by the way, by home, I mean the sewers. You wouldn't belive all the things I've seen down there. Rats and other scavenges and junk of all kinds are down there. But well... I'm there too, so...

I quickly walked into the alley. The smell of junk was laying in the air, but I ignored it as I was going to the man hole. I opened it up and slipped down.

It's just a little corner in the sewers that me and my sister call home. I have a big madrass lying there. It's big enough for both of us. And a few comic books, and bags. I don't have anything other than that. I don't even have a home. That's the reason we live in the sewer.

It's just a small home that I've done for us. It's right beside a ladder that takes me up the the surface again.

My little sister lied down on the filthy madrass. Her brown hair were dirty and needed cleaning, and so were the rest of her. She was pale. It's almost as if she gets paler for every day. Her eyes were closed, since she was sleeping. I'm happy for that, because otherwise she would have seen how sad this made me.

I hate this. I hate that she have to sleep here like a rat. I wish that I could give her a home. A real one. I wished she could go to school, laugh with her friends and that we could be like normal siblings. But no.

I quickly faked a smile before I walked up to her. Madison is so thin and small. She's only eight years old, but she looks younger. She looks so small, and weak. As if she was made of glas. Glas that could brake at any second.

I dropped the bags of food on the ground and immediately took out a sandwich that I bought. With the money I stole.

I had actually bought a pizza. I hadn't eaten pizza in a long time. Neither have Madison. The last time were with our mom. But that was years ago. I doupt Madison even remember it.

I looked at the sandwich with hungry eyes. But I soon put it down beside Madison, so she could eat it ones she's awake. She need to eat vegetables, which happened to be on the sandwich. I smiled and brushed some of her hair away from her face. I opened the pizza box and my hunger was undeniable. The smell of the newly baked pizza hit me like a wave. Hmmmm. Cheese, tomatoe, meat... It looked delicous. I took a warm slice in my hand and were just about to eat it when I heard a sound.

I frooze. I tried to focus on the sound, but it was gone. Like it had never existed. Was I going insane? Well, I live in the sewers. Can't get more insane than that, right?

Then... I heard a voice. It echoed through the sewers.

"Mikey, are you back with the pizza?" I dropped the pizza to the ground and looked around me in order to found the owner of the voice. But I could only see darkness. My heart were beating fast, and my mind was going wild. What was I suppose to do?!

And it was in this moment... It happened. Out of the darkness stepped... Something out. Or... Maybe it's someone?

"Mikey, I swear, if you've eaten the whole thing again-" He quickly closed his mouth when his green eyes saw me. He... Wasn't human. He was green, and was wearing a red mask over his face. He had some kind of salad tongs on him too... He looked like... I don't know. A giant lizard or something.

For a long moment did nothing happen. We were just looked at each other, both completely confused. His eyes were piercing through mines. It felt as if he could see through me.

"Great. Now I'm insane too." I mumbled to myself. The lizard guy suddenly turned around and escaped in to the darkness that he came through.

"Wait!" I yelled after him, but he was already gone. Gone as if he had never existed.

There is a lot more happening in the sewers than I thought.
