Why?

Walking down the guild hall stairs Venus thinks of ways she can protect Kagami. She doesn't notice Natsu walking towards her. "Hey Venus, you okay?" Venus looks at Natsu

"Yeah I'm fine, just a little tired." "Okay, then you should eat!" Natsu smiles and drags Venus to Mira. "Mira, we need to feed her. She's losing energy." "What would you like?" "I'd like some eggs and toast. With a lot of coffee." "I'll take my fire usual." "Coming right up." Mira walks back into the kitchen.

"Venus!" The said person turns around to see the blonde Celestial Mage walking to her. "Are you ready for shopping?" "Actually Luc, I was going to come find you after my meal. I'll have to cancel. Something happened with Kagami, I need to be with her. Maybe next time. I'm so sorry." "What happened? Is everything okay?" "Well no not really. I guess I'll tell you. Kagami is being targeted by a dark guild. Mauta dā tārā. The same guild that caused Zeref to go rogue. They're after her magic." Everyone around her went silent. "Don't worry. We won't let anything happen to her."Natsu smiles. "Yeah. We're Nakama now. And Nakama sticks together." Lucy pats Venus's back. "Don't worry, protecting Nakama is manly." Everyone in the guild joined in. "Thank you." Venus cries.

Time skip.

Venus, Wendy, and Team Natsu are at Kagami's house. They plan on staying over until the problem is over. Master said he'll send Laxus to check.

"Man, I can't believe she did most of this. It's beautiful." Wendy walks around the first floor. Venus was cooking in the kitchen. "Hey, Venus what are you making?" "Dinner." "What's for dinner?" Charla asks. "Veggie pasta, with baked potato and a salad." "What where's the meat/fish!" Happy and Natsu cry. "Kagami is vegetarian, so we can't bring any of that into the house." "Aww man. She doesn't know what she's missing." "Actually I don't care what I'm missing. I refuse to eat everything that bleeds." Everyone turns to find Kagami standing in the doorway with her arms crossed. She had changed her clothes, she was now wearing black tights with a big yellow hoodie. "Good morning sleepy head," Venus says from the stove. Kagami goes to get a glass of water. "Morning," she smiles. "Actually it's the evening," Gray says from the table. "Oh, my bad." she giggles. "Wait. Why are you all here? It's not like I mind the company, but is there any reason," Kagami looks around. Erza walks up to her. "I'll start from the-" "Your father's back." Venus interrupts Erza. Kagami drops her glass of water in the sink. "Wha.. how.. Wait.. No. WHAT!" Kagami turns to Venus. "*sigh* One of his shadows was at your window, Which you left open. It just said that he was watching and that he will prevail." Kagami slumps to the ground. She whispers, "V, take me to the room," Venus slows the stove, then bends down to pick Kagami up. She walks to the room in the corner of the kitchen. Opening it she places Kagami on the floor. She pats her head, at whispers, "I told Master and Laxus. We have Fairy Tails support." With that said she walks out of the room.

Walking back to the kitchen, Venus tells Team Natsu, "she'll be okay, she just needs to be alone" "it's okay we understand." "so, who's hungry cause food is ready." "Well, what are you waiting for? Guy's let's eat!"

Time skip 10:45

Laxus knocks on Kagami's front door, Venus opens the door. "Laxus welcome," she moves aside." "Jiji said that I should spend the night, just so there's extra protection." "It doesn't really matter at this point." The walk into the living room. Laxus finds all of team Natsu plus juvia there too. Erza was sharpening her swords, Gray, Lucy and Juvia were playing a card game, while Natsu was asleep. "Is Kagami still sleeping?" he turns to Venus. "No, she's in her special room. After I told her that her father is coming back again, she needed to be alone. That was 2 and a half hours ago." 'Maybe I should send him to Kags. I do ship them together.' Venus thought to herself. "Maybe you should check on her? Since you understand her situation more than us." "Are you sure? I don-" "of course I'm sure." Venus starts to push him to the kitchen. "Kagami needs comfort, I can't help her since I gotta take care of these kids." Venus knocks on the door. "Kagami, I'm going to come in to check on you okay?" She opens the door and she shoves Laxus in. Then slams the door close. She then proceeds to walk back into the living room smirking.

Back with Laxus. (Laxus's thoughts are italicized)

The first thing Laxus sees are the walls. They are painted to look like the sky but more. "Heaven." Laxus whispers. He then sees Kagami surrounded by little beds, kneeling. She was looking at him. Those are the purest eyes I've ever seen. "Laxus?" she could barely whisper. "Yes? Oh, wait, I'm sorry for interrupting. We were worried. I can lea-" "Laxus," she says a little louder. "Yea?" "Can you stay with me for a while, please?" Her voice breaks in the end. Her eyes start tearing up. "Of course." Always.

Laxus walks around all the little beds and makes his way to Kagami. He sits beside her. He isn't shocked when she leans on him for comfort. "Why is it so hard?" Kagami whispers, she's not fully crying. "Why don't you tell me about it." Laxus looks at her, but she's not there. In her mind, she's already back in the past. After a few moments of silence, she speaks.

"My father was disappointed when he heard I was a girl. He always wanted a son. But he thought the next one would be a boy so he showed me love. 4 years later. I had a sister. My mother fell ill so she couldn't have any more children. That's when it all started. He tried so hard to make me become a killer like him. First, he took me hunting a lot. I started to pick up the skill of archery. But I wouldn't kill the animal. He beat me every time. At age 7 he started experimenting on me. He forced a lot of magic in me every day. I couldn't do anything, he made me believe my mother and sister were dead, and that he'd kill me too if I didn't listen. It only got worse from there. But when I was 14 there was a girl that my father newly captured, she would put up a fight every time. My cell was next to hers. We made plans to run away, I had the building memorized since I was young. So we ran away. That girl was Venus. So we traveled a lot. Got kidnaped by other stupid fathers. We decided to join Fairy Tail." Kagami sighs, feeling much more calm.

After a moment of silence, Laxus spoke. "What happened to your mother and sister?" "There alive. But my sister is under his control. My mother was tossed out, I moved her to another country so she can live peacefully." "So I guess this is a chance to break your sister out." "I would but I'm not strong enough." "Who said it's only going to be you saving you sister. Your family now so, she is too. And family never leaves family behind." Kagami looks up shocked, and lip quivering. Laxus just places his arms around her. "Thank you." Kagami presses her face into Laxus's coat and cries.

Time skip 1 am

Laxus carries Kagami back into her room to find Venus sitting and reading. "Thank you for taking care of her for me, Laxus." Venus moves the covers so he could place Kagami down. "You're staying with here right?" Laxus nods. "Yup. I set a place for you to sleep upstairs with the other boys." "I swear to god, if salamander kicks me in his sleep im gonna kill him." Laxus walks back out. "Goodnight," he says.
