Dumb/Cliché Fanfic Thing: Know Him
The ol' I-know-him-from-somewhere-but-I-can't-remember-where or he-looks-familiar.
Now this doesn't apply to all fanfics, but quite a number so it's worth mentioning. If you're in love with him (we're pretending that he is a world-famous actor in this example), how would you not know where you've seen him?! Like, you "love" him! Probably seen every movie he's in! You would instantly recognize him, not sit there trying to think of where you've seen him.
If you really wanna use that cliché, try something else. Like is-that-really-him? I-don't-want-to-make-a-fool-of-myself-if-it-isn't-so-I'll-just-sit-here-and-watch-him. People will be much happier, I promise. :)
