Dumb/Cliché Fanfic Thing: Insecurities
*sighs* These aren't bad to have in stories, but if the main girl is that guarded and distant from people, she wouldn't tell her whole backstory when they first meet. Heck, even I wouldn't do that!
Or after (or possibly before) you're halfway through the story the girl has no insecurities anymore. Like, poof! They're gone because so-and-so loves me!
Just...keep the story logical.
