Man, that Simon dude was pushy. If Callista wasn't stable enough to have a kid, then he shouldn't push her to at least visit. And Callista wasn't stable. She was having trouble controlling her force fields, and she didn't want to hit Tammi with one, or worse, kill her kid on accident. It would be a tragedy.
"Hey, you and I still need to make plans for what to do about Tammi!" Simon called after a running Callista. I could see tears rolling down her cheeks.
"I CAN'T!" She screamed, and a force field went Simon's way, luckily missing him. Callista collapsed to the ground, sobbing. Simon's face screwed up, and he went to sit beside her. It was tragic how they ended, really.
Tammi was two years old, and Simon, Derek, Mila, Chloe, her kids, and I were all there to celebrate her birthday. She had a beautiful cake with Minnie Mouse, which all the kids were enjoying. Joey and Luke were eating like they hadn't ever eaten in their entire lives. Lila and Aurora were similar, but they ate less. Chloe was feeding Kayden, I was feeding Jayden, and Derek had agreed to feed Brianna. Mila was glaring at Chloe the whole time, I couldn't understand why Mila didn't like Chloe.
After they were done eating and all that, Chloe went back to holding them. They were just a week old. Simon and Callista were talking to Mila, who was still glaring at Chloe. Then Callista gasped, and I whirled around to find a ghost. That pestering ghost named Snow, who never left us alone. Good thing she wasn't a poltergeist.
"What is it Calli?" Simon asked. Callista muttered something about a spider, but Simon wasn't buying it.
"SNOW!" Tammi screamed, pointing at the ghost. Simon obviously couldn't see anything, but Simon just brushed her off.
"Callista Joy Saunders, how many times are you going to keep lying to me about whatever it is that freaks you out? We're supposed to trust each other!" Simon shouted.
"Simon, it's just a problem I have." Callista said, brushing it off, while trying not to anger Simon any further. Too late.
"And maybe I could help you with your problem. Ever think about that? But no, you push me away, and I can't be with you if you keep doing that. If you're not going to trust me, get out of my house." He snapped. Callista ran out of the house, in tears. I went after her since Chloe was unable.
I walked closer to them so I could hear their conversation. Maybe they would get back together.
"You're a supernatural." Simon stated. Callista, being unable to answer, didn't answer, obviously. "I'm one too. A sorcerer." Callista looked up at him.
"I'm sorry about the force field. I just get so upset, I can't control it. I'm not stable Simon, and I never will be. I can't take care of Tammi." She mumbled, completely ignoring the fact that Simon just said he was a sorcerer.
"Callista, is that why you always jumped? Because you were seeing ghosts?" Calli nodded. "Is that who Snow is? The Snow Tammi used to talk about?" Another nod. Simon brought Callista close to him, holding her close. "Callista, I'm sorry. About everything that happened. But we can get through this. You're just going to have to trust me." He mumbled, rubbing her hair. She wrapped her arms around his waist, burrowing her face in his chest. They looked so cute together.
After a while, Callista broke away from him, but still kept her arms around his waist.
"You're a supernatural too?" She asked. Simon nodded.
"A sorcerer." Calli's face screwed up in confusion.
"But I thought they could only have sons." She deadpanned. Hmmm, why didn't I ever think about that?
"Well, it might be different considering you're a supernatural, and sorcerers usually go with humans." Simon explained. "But Tammi wants to see you. And I know you think you can't handle it, but we can get through this. We screwed up last time, but we can make it work now, now that we know about each other." Callista was already shaking her head.
"Simon, we went through it too fast. Much too fast. We barely know each other, and I can't figure out what's wrong with me. Not to mention, not only am I a necromancer with force field powers, but I got bitten by a vampire. I'm not full vampire, but I'm certainly not harmless." Callista countered. But Simon wasn't giving up.
"Calli, baby, I know we can make it work. It would be better having you in my life, I miss you. God, I miss you so badly, sometimes Derek kicks me out of the house because I complain too much. Please, Callista, please." Simon begged. Callista's eyes teared up, and she nodded.
"We can try Simon, we can try." She agreed. At that, I walked away, thinking this was probably way too intimate for me to be eavesdropping on. So I walked over to my apartment, getting ready for my late night shift at a diner. It wasn't anything fancy, but I liked working there. It really made me feel happy, working there. And I didn't have the pain of the drama my life was in. The drama I really didn't want.
