I was in the living room, trying to block out the sounds Chloe and Derek were making. Apparently, that relationship wasn't going to calm down anytime soon. Or at all. Simon was busy trying to lay Tammi down. She was anti-sleep. Hated sleeping. If she was going to sleep, though, it was in my arms.
Tammi was amazing. She had my hair, Simon's eyes, and a mix of our personalities. She had spunk, was really nice, really funny, and didn't let the other kids push her around. Aurora was her very bestest friend, even though she was younger.
"Auntie?" I looked to see Luke in the doorway with Aiden. Aiden thought of me and Chloe as his aunts, even though we weren't. That's also how mine and Chloe's kids thought of Reese. Lila and Joey knew that Reese wasn't their aunt, but they didn't mind calling her Auntie.
Lila and Joey had matured so much. They went to school too.
"What's up babies?" I asked, opening my arms. Aurora jumped into them, and Aiden sat next to me.
"Mommy's door is locked, and now I can't talk to her. Can you open the door with your pretty lights?" Aurora asked. I'm sure my face was red, and it was confirmed by Aurora. "And why do you look like a tomato?"
"Ummm, Mommy's very busy right now. She doesn't want to be bothered, but she'll talk to you later." I said, and Aurora teared up. "Awww, what's wrong Rora?"
"Mommy doesn't love me!" She wailed, and she ran off. Aiden glared at me before running after Aurora. I think the family rules aren't applying to him. It's a good thing they weren't actually related, because Aiden was really attached to Aurora.
I felt bad, but Chloe would sort it out by taking Aurora somewhere. Speaking of which, it was about three o'clock. Joey and Lila would be home soon. Maybe they could make Rora better. Sure enough, Lila and Joey ran into the house a little while later.
"MOMMY! DADDY!" They cried, jumping around and being loud and noisy. "WE ARE HOME!" I rushed out to meet them, and Joey jumped on me. We figured he was a werewolf, he was really strong, ate way too much, and had enhanced senses. But he was always careful not to hurt anybody.
"Hey babies. Have fun at school?" I looked up to see Chloe holding Lila in her arms, and Derek was behind her. She turned her attention to me and Joey.
"School was great Mommy. But they said that I need to work on my English, and Joey needs to work on Math. But we're good at science and social studies." Lila said happily. Joey jumped off of me and ran into the kitchen. Aiden and Aurora came out of the kitchen a few minutes later, not looking at Chloe. Chloe looked a little confused, then glared at me. Lila had gone into the kitchen too.
"What'd you tell her?" She demanded.
"Why do you think I told her anything?"
"You have a guilty look on your face. Now spill."
"She wanted to talk to you, but you and Derek were busy-" Cue Chloe's blush. "-so I told her that, and she thought you didn't love her anymore. I decided you could probably change her mind better than I could." Chloe was already on a hunt for Aurora, not even bothering to listen to the rest of my story. I laughed as Derek looked around trying to find Chloe. He then strode off looking for his mate.
"Hey babe. Tammi slept for five minutes, but as soon as I left the room, she woke up screaming. I kind of just let her stay awake after that." I hit Simon's arm, but not hard because I probably would've done the same thing. Tammi was a stubborn force to be reckoned with. "And that hurt." He moaned. I smiled, and kissed the spot where I punched him.
"Ewww, get a room. That's why you guys have one." Rae complained. I absolutely despised her. Why couldn't she 'accidentally' fall off a bridge or get hit by a bus? It made no sense having her here if all she was going to do was complain, put down the people here, and not helping us at all?
