He looked alarmed, his eyes widening in response to you touching him. You remembered him. The stoic expression on his face shifted, a small smile making it's way to his face. "(f/n). You remembered." He said softly, you pulled your hand away, letting it fall to your side. "I guess I do remember some things from 7 years ago." You said, softly smiling at him. "Come on, let's go inside, you're going to get sick." His expression returned to it's emotionless appearance. Now that made your heart hurt, he used to always wear a smile on his face, now it remained indifferent, hiding any emotion.
"I would feel bad, I'm soaking wet and so is Storm," who left you to sit in the middle of the street.
"It's fine. Okaasan would love to see you, we thought you died."
"You must be talking about the crash. My dad died, actually." You said, walking beside the now soaking wet Akaashi.
"I'm sorry to hear that."
"How's your dad?" You asked, making your way to the house beside yours.
"I don't know, he left about six years ago."
"Oh," you said, now in front of the door, "I'm sorry." Then, you realized, this was Okaasan's home. "Wait, Akaashi, I met your mom yesterday, she was-" As you went to finish your sentence, the door opened up, revealing Akaashi's bright eyed mother. "(f/n), I've see you've met my son." She said, a smiling lighting up her face.
"Why didn't you tell me yesterday?" You asked.
"You remember...I didn't think you remembered, especially since you said you couldn't recall mostly anything. It's great to have you back." She said, as you stepped forward, throwing your arms around her small figure in a warm embrace.
You realized why she insisted you called her Okaasan, it was your name for her when you were younger. "Come inside, we have a lot to catch up on. Keiji, go get her some fresh clothes, she is going to get sick."
"No, really it's fine, I just live next door-"
"No. Then you'd have to walk through the rain back there, I insist. Come with me in the kitchen while Keiji gets you clothes to change into. Let's get poor Storm by the fireplace." She stated pointing to the soaking wet dog sitting beside you.
Akaashi put his bags down, then walked upstairs without a word. Once in his room, he shuffled through his drawers, pulling out an old pair of sweatpants and his Fukurodani practice shirt from last year.
"Hey." You said leaning against his doorway, peering into his room. He looked up from his dresser, turning around and putting fresh clothes on his bed.
"Hey. " He replied.
"I heard you're vice captain for the volleyball club, that's great. You're taking your team to Nationals,"
"Yeah." He said, the look on his face remaining the same.
"Kaashi. What happened to you?" You asked, closing the distance between you, as he moved to sit on the bed.
"What do you mean."
"You would have been smiling by now. You loved being praised." He looked up at you, his eyes did not shine as bright as they once did.
"It's not that big of a deal. I'm not even that good."
"I'm not talking about that" you replied squatting then looking up at him.
He looked at you questioningly, his face not portraying any emotions.
"You've changed,"
"So have you." There, once again he caught something flash through your eyes.
