The day had started off interestingly. Bokuto couldn't help but shake when he talked to you, which pissed Akaashi off, so he locked up Bokuto in the room for the rest of the day. Even Kuroo acted fairly weird to you, which made you feel funny. He would eye Akaashi, who seemed on edge, which was one of the only times you've seen him act like that since you were 17, and you were 23 now.
But, you dismissed it, and you were beyond happy to accompany Akaashi on a starry night trip to the top of a mountain, which was your favorite place to relax when you wanted a break from the world.
The two hour drive was worth it, and Akaashi seemed to tense the closer you got to your destination, which you sensed. Throughout the drive, you'd look at him, studying the expressionless look on his face as he kept his eyes on the road. You'd lean over frequently, keep your hand rubbing Akaashi's inner thigh to try and help him relax, which only seemed to have little to no effect. You looked at him worried, which he would look to you and send you a small smile, which did nothing to ease your anxiousness.
Once you got to the top, you got out of the car, leaving Akaashi to sit in the driver's seat as you made your way to the seating area, enjoying the view.
It was absolutely breathtaking, like usual. Your eyes roamed the skies, then landed on the city, seeing all the lights which looked like a cluster of stars. The darkness helped brighten the glow of the stars that hung in the sky. The view was so fantastic, it took your breath away.
You heard footsteps, but you paid no attention as they moved closer, stuck in a trance at the view in front of you. Akaashi moved beside you, his eyes dark blue/green eyes reflecting the stars that hung in the sky. Your eyes locked with his, and once more, you felt yourself in a trance with the stars that glowed in his orbs.
Unbeknown to you, he was fiddling with the box in his jacket pocket, his nerves on edge as he tried to determine when to exactly ask you.
"What's wrong?" You asked, bringing a hand to his face as you slid your thumb over his jawline, which caused him to gulp.
He shook his head, eyes going back to the view, which you then frowned, before returning your gaze to the sky. You felt a soft breeze begin to tug at your hair, and, much to your enjoyment, fireflies filled the sky as they followed the wind. Your body was angled slightly away from him, to which you did not see him kneel in your peripheral vision, until he said your name softly.
"(f/n)?" You turned to him. God, he wish he could have saved the look on your face forever. The way the wind carried your hair behind you with the soft smile on your features made you absolutely astounding. Your (e/c) eyes looking at him with so much love, he was amazed by how beautiful you were inside and out.
"I've been wanting to say this for a while, but, I was afraid..." You gave him a questioning look, before taking a step closer to him, heart pounding against your ribcage.
"Will you marry me?" He asked, his voice seemed to waver, as if he was afraid of your answer. But, you knew he had no right to be.
You wanted him to be the person you woke up next to every morning, the only person who could pleasure you physically as well as emotionally.
And he, he wanted you to be his, permanently his. He wanted a family with you, one who'd he go to the end of the earth to protect. Your face lit up like a christmas tree, before a small smile came to your face as you decided you wanted to drag this proposal on, because in all honesty, seeing Akaashi on his knees asking you to marry him was a sight that should last an eternity, and you were going to enjoy it for as long as you could.
