P'Arthit was standing in front of me looking relieved to see me. Why was he making this so hard for me?
'P'Arthit...do you need something?'
'Kongpope...are you hungry?'
I just stared at him getting confused.
'Come on. Follow me.'
He turned around and started walking. I didn't move for a few seconds but then rushed over falling into step behind him. I didn't walk beside him like I did before.
It felt like it wasn't my place to anymore. I knew what was coming. He was going to set this mess straight and reject me. I wished he would tell me clearly but now that I knew it was coming, I wanted to run away.
We walked for about 10 minutes and he gestured towards a restaurant with patio seating. We grabbed a table and he sat across me. His knees brushed mine under the table and I moved back so that he didn't feel uncomfortable. I couldn't look him in the eye. I could feel him staring at me. He was probably organizing his thoughts on what to say.
The server came with two glasses and water and took our order. I wanted to make an excuse and go back immediately. I needed to distract myself so I grabbed the water bottle and filled the glasses. He didn't say anything and neither did I.
P'Arthit gave me the chopsticks and I nodded. I didn't look at him. I just focused solely on the bowl of noodles in front of me.
'Kongpope, do you like meatballs?'
'Yes.'
'Here.' He put two meatballs from his bowl into mine.
I sat back and looked at him. I felt my temper flare at his actions. You are going to reject me so why are you being so nice to me. I hoped my expression would express my displeasure. Please stop being so nice. Was this him trying to be the "good" senior?
'P'Arthit?'
'Hmm?'
'Why are you doing this?'
'Doing what?'
