I observed him breathing and it looked like he had already fallen asleep.

'P'Arthit...you asked me if I had feelings for you? I want to say...'

Just then, P'Arthit turned in his sleep and now he was facing me. My heart started beating fast and I continued talking to a sleeping Arthit.

'It would be a lie if I said I didn't

'It would be a lie if I said I didn't...I do have feelings for you if you're thinking of them the same way I am.'

I stared at his face for a while eventually falling asleep. I woke up early since I had to travel home for my niece's birthday. P'Arthit was still sleeping. I got dressed, I was combing my hair when I saw him wake up.

'Good Morning P'Arthit.'

'What time is it?'

'8.30'

'So early!'

'Remember I have to go to my niece's party? Why don't you sleep longer? I can give you my spare key.'

'No...I'll wash up. I will go back to my room and check on things.'

After some time, I heard the bathroom door open.

'P'Arthit, here. Some milk.'

I held the glass to him and he grabbed it. His fingers touched mine and he dropped the glass. It shattered on the floor and I looked at him.

'Oh! Sorry, Kongpope.'

'P'Arthit, it's okay. I'll clean it up.'

My mother called just then and I told her I was going to leave soon.

'Kongpope, I will get going.'

He left so suddenly. Did he have to do something urgently? On my way out, I saw his books and papers still in my refrigerator. I smiled thinking I have another excuse to talk to him.

THE NEXT DAY

I tried calling P'Arthit all evening after I got back from the birthday party but he didn't pick up. I tried in the morning and it looked like he didn't even check his text messages from last night.

I met Aim outside class when I was checking my phone.

'Hey, Kong!'

'Morning Aim.'

'Did you see P'Arthit's new hair style? All the girls are going crazy about how good he looks. I'm thinking of getting the same style.'

'You saw P'Arthit? Where?'

'He's over by the cafeteria.'

'Thanks, Aim.'

I ran off towards the cafeteria with a sense of desperation I had never experienced before. Something was wrong and I could feel it. Did I do something to make him upset? Why was he ignoring me?
