Chapter 16: Too Late

   They all ran to the room they were told. They slam the door open and all the doctors look over at them. "You guys touch Lucy I'll kill you," Natsu says walking through them. He looks down to see, "Lucy..." Her neck was getting stitched back up. "You....took out her vocal cord," Natsu asks. They look at each other. "It was the only way to save her life, sorry." Natsu leaves the room in anger. Levy walks up to Lucy, "Lu Chan..." "Lucy Heartfilia needs some rest miss," a nurse says.
  Levy nods, her and Gajeel leave the room and look for Natsu. They find him in front of the elevator. "You wanna talk about it?" Levy asks. "No not really," Natsu replies not looking at her. They all enter the elevator and head down. They go home and wonder what'll happen to Lucy. Levy just locked herself in her room, as did Natsu. "Lucy..." Natsu says to himself.
[Natsu's P.O.V]
  They took it out....how is Lucy going to talk now! S-She was scared...she didn't want them to, but...I couldn't do anything. I should've been there from the start! I couldn't...They wouldn't let me. I was laying on my bed, just thinking. That's when I got a text. I sit up and check my phone. "Natsu?" It read. I check the name and, "L-Lucy..." I immediately text her back, "Lucy? Are you okay?" It said she was typing:
Lucy: I can't....I can't say anything. They took them out...

      I grip my phone

Me: Gomen, we tried. We really did.

Lucy: Arigato...

Me: Are you okay?

Lucy: I'm sleepy...maybe I'm gonna see my parents again...

  I look confused at my phone and re-read her text, "See her parents?"

Me: What do you mean?

Lucy: Mama and Papa....I saw them before. There was a light...I chose to stay with you guys. Mama wants me to be with them when the time comes.

   "When the time comes?" I say.

Me: Lucy, are you....dying?

Lucy: Idk, am I?
  
    The chat then said 'Lucy Offline'. I quickly sat up, "Lucy!" I ran out my room and ran to my dad's car. I drove towards the hospital. "No no no no." After a few minutes I make it to the hospital and run inside. I head to the elevator and go up. I ran to her room and saw her. "Lucy..." She was just sitting, looking at the TV. "Lucy?" I say. She looks at me and waves. I sit in front of her. She smiles, "Are you okay?" I ask. She nods. I sigh, "You sure?" She nods again and looks back at the TV. "Are you on any medicine?" She looks at me.
  I fall off the chair in horror. "L-Lu-cy..." Lucy's eyes were pitch black and she was bleeding out of her mouth. "Na........a....t...su." she says. "Y-You're eyes! Lucy?" She stands up and walks towards me. I stay still in shock. She kneels down in front of me, "H-H-Help...." She jumps over me and starts banging on the wall and screaming. "LET ME OUT! AHHHH! LET ME OUT!" I try to stop her but she kept banging the wall till her hands got bloody. "Lucy stop it!" I yell. She slowly looks back at me, "This is your fault."
   That's when I woke up. I heard someone knocking on the door. I rub my eyes and look around, "A dream?" I stand up and head downstairs. I open the door, "Levy, Gajeel, Gray, Erza?" I say. They walk into my house, "Natsu," Levy says hugging me. I hug her back, "What's...going on?" Erza sighs, "Natsu, we got a call from the hospital." I look at them, "What happened?" "Lucy...is in a coma..." Gray tells me. My eyes widen, "W-What? No! Why?" "They said it happened recently..." I look down at Levy who was still hugging me. "She's not dead right?" I ask. Gajeel shook his head, "Just a coma."
   We all sit in the living room and talk about it. "She's going to be okay," Erza says. I sigh, "This is your fault." That's right...Lucy told me it was my fault. "It's my fault," I mumble. Everyone look at me, "It's not!" Levy says. "If i didn't let her leave she wouldn't be in a coma!" "It's not your fault Natsu, calm down," Erza says.
[Normal P.O.V]
   They talked about it for a while until they all head home. The last one to go was Levy. "You gonna be okay?" Natsu asks. Levy nods, "Stay strong." She leaves and walks home. The next day they all went to school and saw, "Lucy!?" She looks back at them. "Lucy, weren't you in a coma?!" Gray asks. Lucy looks at them and blinks in confusion. "Guys, she can't talk remember," Erza explains. "Do you guys know Lucy?" Minerva asks. "Aren't you her manager from last time," Gajeel asks. She nods, Lucy pulls on Minerva's shirt.
   "Look, we only said she was in a coma so you guys would let her rest, the real news is actually worse." Everyone look at each other, "What's wrong with her?" they ask. Minerva looks down at Lucy, "She lost her memories...she remembers me for some reason. "Will she get them back?" Levy asks. Minerva sighs, "They're working on it." "Uh oh, what about-" "Hey," Natsu greets. He sees Lucy and gasps, "Lucy?" Erza and Gray stop Natsu, "We need to tell you something." Everyone explains everything to Natsu as Levy is talking to Lucy. "How are you?" Lucy writes down 'I'm doing fine' Levy smiles, "That's good." Lucy looks down at her notepad sadly. 'Why can't I talk?'
    Levy sighs, "It's a long story..." Lucy looks down at herself. 'When did I get boobs?' Levy sweatdrops and everyone walks over to them. "Take really good care of Lucy and don't force anything," Minerva says, "I'll pick her up after school." Everyone nods and Minerva gets in the limbo and leaves. Levy holds onto Lucy's hand but Lucy wouldn't leave. She looks back at Lucy and Lucy was staring at, "Natsu?" Levy says. Natsu looks at them, "Hm?" He noticed Lucy looking at him. He raises an eyebrow, "What?" Levy giggles, "She's just staring at you." Lucy blushes and looks away and pouts at Levy.
    Levy winks at Lucy, "Does someone have a crush?" Lucy blushes and nudges Levy. Natsu laughs. Lucy pulls on Natsu's shirt and he looks down at her. "Yes?" Lucy grabs her notepad and writes, 'Have we met?' Natsu tenses up, "Uh..." Lucy sighs and looks down. She shows him her notepad, 'You won't tell me because of my memories....' Natsu looks at her, she was looking down. She sighs and walks away into the school. "Minerva did say we shouldn't force it..." Levy says. Natsu looks into the school, "Yeah..." They both walk in and get ready for the day.
