Wanting A Happy Ending - Chapter 5
Madi refused to leave her room. It's been like that for the last few days...we would bring food up to her room, leave it outside, she cries, then she sleeps.
It was all my fault, maybe I should've cut down my words, and waited longer. She wasn't ready.
I groaned and punched the wall in frustration, leaving a dent in it.
Austin chuckled from behind and pointed at me, then the wall. "Stop taking everything out on the walls. This is like the tenth time you've punched a hole in it. As I said before, you're fixing them."
I was about to say something stupid when my heart stopped as a voice inturrupted me.
"Austin, can I talk to you?" I hear my mate ask, as she peaked her head into the room.
"Don't you wanna talk to Adrian instead?" he asked glancing at me.
She shook her head, "No, I hate him."
I stared at her in shook as my wolf howled in pain. "W-what do you mean, you hate me?"
"I starting going through my stuff during the last few days as I took the time to think...then I came across a journal I kept before the accident."
By now my heart was pounding against my chest wanting to burst out.
"Mads, I wanted to tell you," I mumbled.
Scoffed and shook her heading slightly smiling, "Oh please do tell, cause to be honest all I wrote in there was I hated you. There was no reason behind it."
I sighed in relief, but quickly covered it up.
"Anyways, Austin as I said, I need to talk to you."
My wolf growled at the thought of another guy being close to our mate, but I was perfectly fine myself. Austin was mated and have 3 kids, I didn't need to worry about him.
"For what?" he asked turning around to pick up a three-year-old Jared out of Beverly's arms.
"I was hoping you and Bev could help me jog my memory back. I mean really it sucks to be out of date," she whispered.
Austin glanced at me then back at my mate, "I think Adrian might be able to do a better job on that than us."
She groaned in frustration, closed her eyes and stomped, jumping up and down, "Why does everything have something to do with Adrian?! Why can't you guys help me?! I know there has to be a reason behind why I said I hated him! I wouldn't hate someone for no fu*king reason!"
My heart sank from her words. I was hoping she would give me a chance to talk it through with her.
"Madi, walk up to Adrian," Austin ordered my mate.
I shook my head like crazy, while backing up. What kind of sh*tty plan is in that pea-brain of his now?
Madi glared at him, and took a few steps forward, as I kept taking steps back.
"Dammit Adrian, stand still."
I hesitated, and stopped backing up. By now Madi was right in front of me, forcing me to breathe in her beautiful scent.
"Okay, now what?" she asked starting to look confused.
I squeezed my eyes shut, not wanting to know what was coming up.
"Austin, don't you think you wa--" Bev warned her mate.
"They're not going anywhere, so it has to be done." he said to Beverly. "Okay Madi, just touch Adrian's hand for a sec."
Madi looked at us confused but obeyed, as the shocks went through us, her eyes widened.
"Sh*t. No. This isn't happening. He can't be..."
"But he is," Austin bellowed.
I didn't say anything and just kept looking at my mate.
She flinched then went deep in thought. "But it's not possible. Why would I hate him, if I'm supposed to love him?"
"That's for you to ask Adrian."
She turned to me and raised her eyebrow.
I sighed and pulled her over to the couch.
----
"...so that's why you hate me, but Mads the worst part is over. I think," I said as I finished off the story.
She fidgeted with her hands, then got up. "I think I need time to think this through."
I took a deep breath and nodded.
"You're sure you told me everything?"
"Well, I've told you about Aaron too, so yeah I'm sure I told you everything."
She paced around the room, "Dammit. Is it even possible for all that to happen within the 3 years that I don't remember."
I smiled weekly and got up, "I'll leave. Have some time to think."
She sighed and sat down. Now that she knows the entire truth, what would she do? Would I be given a chance? Would she decide that she wants to go back to Aaron? Or would the rest of her memories come back...
