Wanting A Happy Ending - Chapter 2
I flopped on the couch, while turning on the tv. I live in the pack house, along with a bunch of other pack members who had no exact family...which included Madison.
I changed the channel, to watch the NHL's. It's November, so the Capitals are on the roll.
Suddenly the door slammed close. I shot up in caution. I slowly walked over to the doorway, to be smacked right into Madison. I felt the tingles of our bond shoot through myself, which meant it was worse for her.
"Oh sh*t, sorry!" she apologized.
I chuckled at her, "It was clearly my fault, don't apologize."
She smiled softly, then walked right past me.
I sighed wishing she was mine, as she walked away and into the kitchen. I wish I didn't believe in my terrible luck and didn't say those words that year ago.
"Yo bro! Are you staring at Madi's as*? Dude, not cool. I thought she's like a little sister to you," Austin joked slamming his hand on my shoulder, catching me in surprise.
"You'd be surprised of what's not cool," I muttered under my breath, as I shrugged and walked over to the couch.
He followed me and sat on the love-seat that was near the couch. "So, tell me. What's been going on between you two."
I shook my head, "Nothing's been going on."
He raised his eyebrows at me, "Oh really?"
I didn't speak, and just stared at him. "Why do Ihave a feeling you already know what's happening?"
He smirked and blew up bubble with his gum, then popped it. "Maybe because I do know."
"Then why ask?!"
"Cause you should tell me the complete story so I could help," he stated matter-of-factly.
"Bro...I messed up."
He rolled his eyes, "Yeah, I got that part..but exactly what did you do?"
"I pushed her away," I mumbled ashamed.
He shook his head at me, frowning. "I would've thought you'd know better. You're pretty much doing th exactly same thing as what I did with Bev. Yet at the end I decided it was better to not fight the pull that I had towards her."
"This isn't something I could prevent! For you two I could've helped, it was possible to stop the enemy, but for me...it's like fighting fate."
"Take the risks."
"I can't. I can't imagine what it would be like to watch her die in front of me, because of me. It's not right..."I trailed off not knowing what I really want to do. I know I love her.
"Breaking her heart isn't right," he replied getiing up. "Anyways, go to her. Try figuring it out. I need to get back to my kids."
He started heading for the doors, but then he suddenly came to a hault. "Brings me back to...I thought you wanted kids of your own."
I scoffed, wanting to kick something. Yeah I wanted kids but what would be the point if they end up dying in their mother...or what would be the point if their mother dies after they're born. How would I be able to raise them by-myself? Austin chuckled and left, leaving me to think. Sighing I pushed myself up and stalked into the kitchen.
There she was, my angel preparing lunch for herself. She froze at the appearance of me, then turned around. "What do you want?" she asked not showing emoction.
