James POV
"Hello?" Alpha Brent said.
I was calling Breanna's father. This needed to be sorted out and it needed to happen now. Breanna was sleeping in our bedroom. She needs to rest from all the stress on her shoulders.
"Alpha Brent, this is Alpha James."
"Alpha James of Black Mountain Pack. What can I do for you?"
He sounded too happy.
"I'm calling in regards of Breanna."
There was silence on the other end.
"Your daughter who went missing three years ago. Your only daughter who you locked up in an attic her entire life. A child who nobody knew existed and probably still doesn't."
"How do you know this information you have is true?"
"She's my mate."
I heard very faintly as he cursed himself.
"That disgrace deserves to be dead. I'm surprised she didn't die by the hand of a rabid rogue."
"How can you not care about your own child yet your son is your pride and joy?"
"Don't talk about Jason like you know him." He growled.
"Did I hit a nerve, Brent?" I smiled.
"Are you wanting to start a war?"
"No doubt my pack would win." I said confidently.
"That little whore is going to die. I will make sure of it whether I die trying or not." He said determined.
"Why do you want her dead?"
"She murdered my mate, my wife, my soulmate, Jason's mother."
"Right because a newborn can murder someone." I snapped. "Your wife obviously couldn't handle the pain just like a lot of other wolves. Your not the only one who lost their mate to childbirth."
"What are you tying to say, James?" He asked angrily.
"My father lost his mate, Alpha Daniel of the Red Moon Pack lost his mate to childbirth, must I go on?"
"I don't fucking care. That little slut killed my pup."
I was filled with anger.
"YOU KILLED YOUR OWN GOD DAMN PUP! YOU BASTARD! YOU'VE JUST STARTED A WAR YOU WILL LOSE TERRIBLY, BRET!" I screamed into the phone.
It was silent for a few seconds.
"See you then. You better keep an eye on Breanna. I could already have her."
He threatened and then hung up. I slammed the phone down and raced to our room next door to find Breanna sleeping peacefully. I let out the air I had been holding in. I walked over and took my pants off leaving me in only my boxers. If she complained in the morning which I doubt then she can deal. I slipped under the covers and wrapped an arm around her pulling her to me. I was not allowing anyone to touch her. Bret is going to be sorely mistaken when he tries anything. He will lose one way or another. Going to war with the strongest pack in North America when you're the weakest is a really terrible idea but if that's what he wants it's a fight he'll get.

Sorry it's short.
It's more of a filler and I couldn't wait to write what happens between Bree's dad and James on the phone.
Questions to think about
-Do you think James overreacted?
-Do you think Alpha Bret is too confident or just scared?
-Should James have someone be Bree's body guard in a sense until after the war?
