Chapter 3

I silently groaned as I awoke. It was Tuesday. AKA Valentine's.

I sighed. Tobias wasn't home- he was at work again.

Slowly getting up, I grabbed a t-shirt and jeans. I went into the bathroom, locked the door, and undressed. I quickly brushed my hair, and got in the shower.

The hot water ran over my skin as I washed my body. Then I rinsed and shaved, then washed my hair with shampoo and conditoner.

After I was done, I felt my legs and underarms for any more hair. I also checked for any cuts. Since there was none and I had gotten all the hair, I dried off and got dressed. I put some detangler in my hair then combed it. Quickly I brushed my teeth.

I let it air dry so it'd be curlier, then tied it into a ponytail.

My dress and underwear set was hidden safely in my underwear drawer, somewhere Tobias would never look. At least I hoped he wouldn't.

I grinned slightly, putting on my combat boots, and went to the dining hall. I grabbed a plate and put a chicken biscuit and some gravy on it.

Sitting down at our table, I smiled at Christina and Will. Will smiled back before returning to eat his crepe.

Christina smirked. "Have you seen Tobias this morning?" She said, winking.

I shook my head. "He's working."

She pouted, taking a bite of her orange.

I smiled inwardly and finished my plate then threw it away, bidding them goodbye and then walking back to my apartment.

Tobias was on the bed when I got back. I sat beside him, staying silent even though I knew he wasn't asleep. His eyes were open, and he smiled at me weakly when I walked in.

"Hey," he said, "how are you?"

I smiled, laying beside him. "I'm great. How are you?"

He chuckled, "I'm great too. Have you already eaten?"

I nodded guiltily. "Yes, but I will go in there with you if you're hungry." I realized my Abnegation was showing- once you're in a faction, you stay that faction.

He shook his head lightly. "No," he said, "I was just wondering because I ate in the control room. Zeke went and brought me back a biscuit and a bowl of gravy because he knows how long I've been cooped up in there."

"Zeke is a good friend," I said, smiling. "By the way, happy Valentine's."

He laughed. "Happy Valentine's to you, Trissy."

I sat up and looked at him. "Trissy?" I asked, raising an eyebrow at him.

"Yupp." He grinned his boyish grin. Grabbing my hips, he pulled me onto his stomach so I was straddling him. He puckered his lips. I laughed, and leaned down to kiss him.

His hands stayed on my hips, keeping me planted on him. Our kisses were deep, slow, and passionate. After slowing them down, he pulled away.

"I have a surprise for you tonight," he said, "and I think you'll like it."

I smiled. "I have one for you, too."

"I guess we'll see which one is better," he said, smirking. "I love you, Trissy."

"I love you too, Toby."

He laughed, and so did I.

I sighed, glancing at the clock. Time for me to get ready.

Tobias had already left to go prepare. We had laid in bed, kissing and talking. When he had to leave, he said he almost wanted to stay at the apartment and just do what we had been doing.
