  "Sit straight."
  "Keep your back straight."
  "I said sit straight!"
"Look ahead, sit up and balance your horse."
  "SIT UP STRAIGHT!"

That was basically one of my last riding lessons. My riding instructor noticed that my body protector (which is like a bulletproof vest for equestrians) was sitting askew and told us to go back to the shop and get a new one. But the people at the shop gave us the number of their chiropractor, saying that it must be my back because it wasn't the jacket!
A couple of days later, we got an appointment with the chiropractor, in Ampthill. She took one look at me and said bluntly: "You've got severe scoliosis."
