Chapter 6
Riley's POV
I woke up the next morning to Scarlet curled up right next to me with her head in the crook of my neck. How the hell does she find that comfortable?
I check the time and it had just hit ten o'clock. Gee, we slept in a bit.
I move my neck up and place her head onto my pillow and she stirred slightly so I knew she was waking up. “Scar” I whispered in her ear.
She didn't reply.
“Scar?” I whispered again.
“Mmmm” she mumbled putting her head back into my neck.
“Baby it's ten 'o'clock, time to get up” I said carefully pulling her up by the arms and lifting her onto my lap. She turns herself around and digs her head into my chest trying to go back to sleep.
I lift her head up and kiss her lightly on the forehead. God she was so beautiful in the morning.
“I'm tired” she yawned her eyes closing slowly. I move her bangs off her face and curl them behind her ears even though they fall back in place because there not quite long enough.
“How about you lay here for a bit more, and I'll go make you some breakfast” I suggested although I couldn't cook for crap.
As soon as I finished my sentence she jumped up from the bed almost instantly with wide eyes. “No way! I'll be making my own breakfast thank you very much” she laughed putting her face into her hands.
I walk over to her hugging her tightly and breathing in her delicious smell. She nudges me in the ribs lightly running out of my room and downstairs squealing knowing I'll run after her.
I quickly run down the stairs after her and I actually can't find her. Where on Earth did she go now? I thought laughing to myself.
I look through all of the rooms and I seriously don't know where she went.
The gym! Why the hell didn't I think of that?
I walk through the hall down to the gym and hear my treadmill running.
I poke my head around the corner and see her running at full speed. Holy $hit! She shouldn't be doing that!
I run over to her and turn the treadmill down to medium speed. “What are you doing?” she frowned looking at me annoyed while still running.
I hate to upset her, but it's not good for girls to be running that fast.
“You'll hurt yourself” I told her as she turned the treadmill off and stepped down.
“I was only on it for like a minute” she said frustratingly throwing her arms up in exasperation walking towards the door.
I quickly grab her arm swinging her around and pulling her into me looking down at her big brown eyes.
“I'm sorry, I just can't afford to see you get hurt” I told her honestly. I seriously hate seeing her get hurt or upset. It kills me.
“I know, but sometimes you have to let me do things my own way” she said pointing her eyebrows up so she knows that I understand.
“I'll try” I said letting go of her soft arm. “Good” she smiled walking out the door to the kitchen.
I walk into the kitchen and see Mom and Steve cuddling each other giggling like little girls.
“Keep the PDA for the bedroom please” I rolled my eyes not even making eye contact with them.
Mom immediately turned around shocked to see us. “You two are finally up” she smiled walking over to me and kissing me on the cheek.
