Finally! I have uploaded. It's a miracle. Lol, I am really sorry to all you guys who have been waiting for this chapter. This one was a bit harder to write than the others because I never like seeing people fight. But you'll find out what happens anyway.
Hope you enjoy :) Please fan, comment or vote if you would like!
Chapter 9
Riley’s POV
A few days had passed and Scarlet and I just seemed to drift further and further apart and it was killing me. It was like she thought Myah was completely right and she should stay away from me.
She continued to get weird phone calls each night but then she’d tell me they were a wrong number. I knew she was lying to me, so I’d just have to find a way to answer her phone when she’s not looking.
Kain was meant to be leaving college and going to the Police Academy in a few days as that’s what he wants to be when he’s older. It’s going to be hard without him though because he’ll be in another state in America so I’ll only get to see him occasionally. I guess our party nights are off for now, although he’s still convincing me to visit him every few weeks so we can go to the bars.
Scarlet and I were currently looking at places to move into near each other. I wanted to get out of the house sooner or later because I didn’t want to be one of those sons that live with their parents when they’re still forty.
“Hey this one’s nice” Scarlet chirped gluing her eyes to the computer screen. “And there’s another one right around the corner of it for sale as well, so we won’t be far from each other”.
I looked closely at both of them and they actually looked quite good. Two three bedroom apartments with balconies and a big area out the back and they were both pretty cheap. There is one problem though. Even though I’ll be pretty close to her, I don’t want her living on her own looking the way she does.
We walk five minutes down the road and she already has a group of guy’s perving on her, not that I can blame them though, she’s like a f*cking sex goddess. It will scare the crap out of me though not being able to be as close to her as I am now.
“They’re both really nice, but I don’t know if I want you living on your own Scar” I said worriedly.
She turned to me and frowned. “You don’t really have a say in it Riley. I’m an adult now, I make my own choices”.
She turned her head back to the computer and continued looking. “I know, but I just want you to be safe” I said sadly.
She stood up fiercely making the chair she was sitting on thump loudly on the floor boards. “God damn it Riley! It’s always ‘I want you safe Scarlet’, ‘I can’t let you do that on your own’. Why can’t you just let me look after myself for once? You don’t have to be so f*cking overprotective of me! You’re not my Father!” she shouted then stormed off out of the room.
Holy shit what was that? I don’t think I’ve ever seen her that angry. That scared the crap out of me!
I quickly ran after her searching the rooms.
Where the hell did she go?
I look down the halls and rooms when I hear her phone ringing from her bedroom. I run back up to her bedroom and grab her phone off the bedside table.
I check the caller ID and it’s a blocked number. What private number would be calling her every night?
“Hello?” I answered.
“This isn’t Scarlet” they said frustrated. I recognize that voice from somewhere, where have I heard it?
“No this isn’t. Who the hell are you? And why are you calling Scarlet?” I growled angrily.
