I jolt up and start crying. I pull my knees up to my chest and cry. Life will never be the same. Never.
I must be crying pretty loud because Will comes into my room. He walks over to the bed and wraps his arms around me. We stay like that until I calm down. I raise my head and squeeze my eyes shut.
Aura:They won't go away, Will. They never will.
Will:Sure they will Aura. All of this is gonna be over someday. That day is gonna be pretty soon.
Aura:We can't do anything. One of us is sick. We aren't ready for anything. We don't even know anything.
Will:We can do something. Just not right now. We are going to get information and the things we need. Some of us may die but it'll be worth it.
I let his words sink in. My mum used to say people dies for our freedom. For strangers, for criminals, for kids, for everyone.
Aura:In gonna go over to Skuttle's house and see Candy.
Will nods his head and gets up. I wrap the blanket around me and head outside. I knock on their door and Candy opens it. She lets me in and I sit down. She sits next to me and gets under the covers. After a while Candy speaks up.
Candy:Why do you care Auar?
Aura:What?
Candy:Why do you care for us? We are just a bunch of people. You said you were going to leave after all of this so, why stick around?
Aura:I want to make sure you all are ok before I leave.
Candy:I don't want you to leave. I want you to stay with us. It won't be the same without you. I can tell you anything and I love it when you are here. You actually care.
Aura:The others care about you.
Candy:Not as much as you do though. You care for all of us but,not all of us care for you. I want that to change. I can't get so attached to you if you're just going to go away.
Aura:I have t-
Candy: No you don't. Where would you go?
Aura:I would stay here or somewhere close to my home.
Candy:Aura, this is your home now. We are your family. We aren't blood but it's close enough.
Aura:Lets go to sleep.
Candy:You can't fight it, you can't hide it, so why try?
Aura:Shh. Lets go to bed.
Candy:....We do care Aura. Do you wanna know who cares the most?
Aura:Who?
