Looking over myself in the mirror my eyes caught the light reflecting from my crystal amulet. At the moment it was a clear transparent colour. It used to belong to the High Witch when they were still alive.
The High Witch was the most powerful witch of time. She ruled over most magic wielders with her family. Her power was said to me unimaginable and indestructible. But a war raged. A war between dark and light. After a long time of fighting her whole family was killed and she was the only one still standing. In a fit of furiousness she cast a spell over the leader of the dark magic, a demon so greedy and cruel shadows ran from him. He and his bloodline were cursed. And the only way to break the curse would be with the High Witches heir. Someone even more powerful than the High Witch herself. Now her amulet hung from my neck, protecting me and helping me control my powers.
My golden eyes roamed my body, my hair was in a slick high ponytail, my eyes lined in black kohl, my deep red lips caught attention immediately. I always did love a good lipstick. A black leather choker around my neck, then a long gold chain with triangular designs hung just between my breasts. A white off the shoulder top matched with a pair of black skinny jeans, a strip of skin on my stomach visible. Knee length leather boots with a gold heel gave me extra height. Damn Kali you look good.
A small smirk fell on my lips than got slightly bigger when I thought of who was coming here today. Nicolai. I haven't seen Nic in a long long time. He's in for a bit of a shock the old bastard.
Grabbing my small knife I twirled it between my fingers as I walked down to where the meeting was happening.
Xavier decided that the large dining room would be best seeing as it was one of the biggest rooms in this place. I don't know whether to call it a castle or a mansion. Seriously neither seemed to do it justice.
Wandering into the dining room my mind focused on what was about to happen today. Nicolai would not be alone, no he would bring his court with him. The room was large enough for our group and the large vampire court to maintain a nice, respectable distance while still engaging conversation easily. Oh what a conversation it was going to be. I could tell that Xavier knew what he was doing, he wasn't afraid but was confident in his abilities to protect those in his inner circle, if he had to.
The double doors were open, hard oak wood flooring ran through the room, my heels giving a satisfying click click as I walked. The walls dark maroon colour, tall windows covering one wall with plush curtains pulled, candles lit around the room to give some light, the dome glass ceiling showed the sun going down. They'd be here soon.
Standing on the slight alter everyone was huddled in a group. Anna had her arms wrapped around Isaacs waist, holding him tight while everyone chatted. I made my way to Jacksons side. Leaning down to kiss my temple gently he spoke.
"How angry do you think he'll be?"
I giggled a bit, "Oh he will be more angry that I didn't stay to clear anything up."
"They're here." My attention went straight to Blake just as I felt the familiar power of Nicolai enter the hall way. Oh they were here alright.
The room was silent as we waited for the King of vampires to grace us with his presence. A few minutes later and they strolled through the double doors and made they're way half way across the room before stopping.
Nicolai's gaze went straight to Xavier before sliding towards me. His red eyes that would unnerve the most powerful beings met mine and I gladly kept his stare. His tall lean frame was slightly tense at the shoulders, his thin lips sat in a straight line. His blonde hair was combed back and the scruff on his face neatly trimmed. There was a certain beauty about him. A grace.
"Lovely to see you again love," his deep voice with his British accent meeting my ears. Nicolai was being sincere but he was also tense. Somethings up.
Smiling a little at the familiar endearment, "Hello Nic."
