"-he was there on business but he did not kill your females. Isaac is mated to a vampire he has no intention to kill any of you."
I gotta give it to Xavier he knew how to handle things. For the last hour they've been taking about the killings and why Isaac was taken from trial unexpectedly. I'm a busy person so I thought it would be easier to pop in and out. Of course I didn't actually say that and it would be all lies. I didn't want to have to deal with what comes with people knowing I'm here. Xavier seemed to be handling it with grace and bluntness. Weird combination but he somehow makes it work.
So far Nic has kept the conversation between himself and Xavier. Looking over to me I knew that he wanted to know whether it was true or not so that he didn't have to waste anymore time. Nodding my head slightly we held eye contact, "He's telling the truth."
Nicolai held my stare for a few more moments before sighing. Anna's father, Ryan, noticed Nicolai's resolve.
"You can't be serious Sir?! He killed five of our females and your just going to let it go!"
Nicolai glanced at him, "You would be wise to keep what your thinking to yourself Ryan."
Well that shut him up quickly. My mind was catching glimpses of what they were all thinking. He's not going to punish him? Why is the King believing them? He must know something that we don't. And so on. Most of them were slightly confused but those that knew me more than others understood perfectly. I had claimed Isaac and if the King wanted him dead he had to do it properly. Nicolai also valued what I said. I wasn't a liar.
That bitch I'd like to see her if Jackson was killed and see how she reacted and how she wouldn't hesita-
The wind outside became ferocious, thunder and lightening cracking the sky open. My eyes were glowing. Ryan didn't get to finish his sentence. I was standing before him looking him straight in the eye. Nicolai had heard what he was thinking and had warned him but Ryan was so bitter towards Isaac that he paid no mind to it. He hadn't noticed me standing five centimetres from his face.
"Would you like to say that to my face Ryan." I didn't question him, it was more a statement. His eyes widened significantly finally noticing that I was in front of him and I was angry.
He realised his mistake quickly, "Mistress, I apologise I would never act on those thoughts." His head bowed down to show me submission.
I chuckled humourlessly and tipped his chin up to look me in the eye, "I'm only going to say this once. Isaac is mine and he didn't kill those vampires. Now you are going to let your bitterness and resentment go or you're going to find yourself missing your head. Your daughter found her beloved an he loves and protects her. Get your head out of your ass and be a fucking father. You lost your beloved would you like Anna to go through that same pain that you live with daily?" Ryan knew not to reply, it was a rhetorical question.
Turning away from him I looked at Nicolai, "Next time send someone without a personal vendetta to see if they did what they are being accused of."
I winnowed back beside Jackson and he pulled my back to his chest trying to calm me down. Thoughts were still flying at me.
"I apologise for Ryan and my courts behaviour. It won't happen again. No one will touch Isaac or any of your people," Nicolai was once again talking to Xavier. But he acknowledged that I hadn't killed his second in command and noticed that I hadn't lost control like I would have two hundred years ago.
Another thought caught my attention and my eyes snapped to Nic's as he looked up to me, his face grave. Answering my unanswered question he looked at me, "Two."
Everyone was confused but hid it well. Dread settled in my stomach and I nodded once at him showing that I understood and would help where I could.
Using his supernatural speed he appeared before me and gently took my hand, kissing it and locking eyes with me. Nodding once more he took that as his que and his whole court sped out of the room an the rest of Xavier and Blake's property.
"Two of the females were pregnant. One was due next week, he would have been Nicolai's heir if Nic didn't find his beloved."
The silence suddenly became thick as everyone understood the information that I just gave out.
Storming out of the room I threw open the doors and made my way to the gym. I needed to get rid of this energy. Still pissed at Ryan for thinking about threatening Jax.
