"Why can't i take you home?" Dean asked when he pulled over at the Park near school.
Cas looked down, searching desperately for a suitable aswer. "I'm...I'm supposed to meet a f-friend..." It felt terrible, lying to Dean.
"Oh...Okay..." Dean didn't sound very pleased..."Well...see you at School?" He asked with a small childish smirk on his face.
"You bet you will!" Cas said, faking a smile. He turned to open the door but before he could even stretch his arm to do it, Dean placed a soft kiss on his cheek.
"Can't wait." He added as Castiel's cheeks turned bright red. He looked back and smiled the most shy, embarrassing smile there ever was. And with that, he left.
As the Impala roared away from him, CAstiel was left without a plan. It was already 21:00...
He decided it was best to stay here...How dangerous would it be? Hell, it would be way safer than "Home".
He scooted over to one of the benches that stood dark and lonely next to an empty playground.
This is good enough for me. It's not like i deserve anything better now, is it?
Those damned thoughts would never leave his head. They were always there, creeping out of the shadowy corners of his mind. There was no antidote to defeat them...He had to manage. He was forced to manage...
Light rain began falling...Castiel didn't mind...He liked the way it felt on his face...so liberating...so free...
Hours passed...Castiel didn't move...his only source of heat, the thought of Dean's eyes. The way they looked at him. It warmed him up.
He grabbed his jacket and pulled it closer to him. The rain was falling harder every second.
Who cares?
He glanced at his watch. 1:00 A.M...
No one will miss me anyway...
"Cas!" Dean's voice came from behind Castiel. He jolted his head back, to meet Dean's worried look.
Dean took his leather jacket off and placed it over Cas's shoulders "What the Hell are you doing out here in the middle of the night? It's raining for God's sake!"
He didn't sound angry. He was worried.
"Oh...Dean...hey...I was...I'm..." He sighed. "I'm all out of excuses..."
"Come on. We're leaving." Dean gave Cas a little push to get up.
Castiel looked down as tears fell on his face. "Dean...i don't *sob* to go home! *sob*"
Dean knelt in front of him, looking in his eyes. "I'm not taking you home." He gently ran his thumb across Cas's cheeks to wipe his tears.
"Come on." Dean stretched out his hand for Cas to take. And so he did. Too tired to even question their destination, he just followed Dean to the car.
He opened the door and put Cas in the passenger seat, putting his seat belt on for him. "Safety first, right?" He smiled.
Cas smiled back, a tired smile, but still good.
Dean ran to the other side and got in, starting the car and taking off.
Dean strocked Cas's arm. "Get some sleep. We'll be Home in a while."
With that shine in Dean's bright eyes, CAstiel drifted to light sleep. ''Soldier of Fortune" by Deep Purple echoed silently in the background followed by Dean's soothing hum. Once again the feeling of the cold window felt numb against his skin but he didn't mind. He didn't mind at all.
"Cas..." A hand was slowly caressing his cheek "We're here...get up" A soft kiss on his forehead and his eyes sprung open.
"Dean...Where are we?" CAstiel asked, shaking his head still dizzy.
"We're home." DEan smiled
Cas looked around. A huge building lying infront of them. Looked like some apartment building...
